No, no BYOND RPGs are good yet because none of them are suited to fit anyone other than power-hungry DBZers and people in to chat. People play games like Seika so they can be the best. The problem with Seika and related RPGs is that they don't have anything to appeal to anyone other than those kinds of people. You make a good RPG, then you make a good storyline, one that doesn't get in the way. I'm not even talking bias when I say that, I love games like Final Fantasy and their huge cut scenes, but these are MORPGs, the story needs to be a backdrop, not a huge main aspect (unless it's like a single-player RPG where others can play along, but very, very few BYOND RPGs ar elike that.)
Added LRS to number 2...
Elation, where have you been? This is old news. =P I put LRS at number 1 when I noticed.
He's talking about it happening again today.
I didn't think LRS had gone back to #1... maybe it did and I didn't notice, it's not like I check that list very often. =)
Added it to the top of my favorites on all of my keys. Even though I think that the rankings are stupid, it still pains me to see a game like Seika in 1st.
No offense intended towards Seika, but "100+ different pieces of equipment" and "dozens of monsters" are not exactly claims that will impress, unless perhaps you have traveled back in time and are attempting to impress gamers in 1985.
"Added it to the top of my favorites on all of my keys. Even though I think that the rankings are stupid, it still pains me to see a game like Seika in 1st."

Game like Seika? I know it's not the best game in the world, but have you even recently played it long enough to judge it? And adding games to your favorites just to lower the ranking of a game you think is bad is just wrong. The rankings should be truely what the BYOND community likes best. Last Robot Standing is a good game and it deserves to be in the top ranks, but not just because it is created by Deadron and just because oldbies who actually get memberships don't want a "game like Seika" to be the top. We've dished out a lot of money to buy people memberships so they could show off their favorite games, since rankings are mostly based on what the oldbies and hardcore BYOND fans like, but now since things like this are going to happen, it probably wont be happening again next round.
*cough* http://members.byond.com/Deadron

Thats the real reason its in number one, come off it, yes, LRS IS a good game, but the best on byond ? It should be in the top 10, but not first.

But because its Seika, go guys :P beat it. lol. Actualy I dont think I've ever played Seika...
Leftley, I didn't know pac-man has over 100+ different equippable items and dozens of monsters... I guess I just haven't been playing it right >:|

Can you show me any other BYOND RPGs that can make those claims?
I HATE THAT GAME

probably becouse i havnt played it but

nnooooooo
Dark_Shadow_Ninja:

Seika has over 100+ different peices of equipment: each with their own icon, great pixel-art, dozens of monsters, plenty of skills with great systems for each(especially blacksmithing), several different races, and a large map(especially in the next update). Wait, it dosn't have Storyline. Than how is it nothing more than a game that you train on. BYOND RPG would be 10x better if they all had a decent storyline in them that you follow.

you mean abit like celestrial chaos
Im gonna put Seika as my #2 game becuase I think you guys all getting together to take a good game down to a lower rank is messed up :P.
I tried to get a feel for what games you youself liked, Acebloke, from looking at your member page. Unfortunately the majority of listed games are your own ;p, I do like Incursion and Crispy's Space Game (which reminds me a lot of NetTrek for some strange reason). What do you think should be at #1 then Mr. Acebloke?

And you can't nominate one of your own games! ;P
100+ equippable items and dozens of monsters? Try any of the Dragon Warrior games on BYOND. That's not saying much though, because all of them are crap.

And Aaiko, I agree that what the BYOND gurus like tends to dominate the top ranked games (why else would a crappy chat program like Chatters have been #1 for so long?). However, I feel that the top ranked games are in no way representative of what the best games on BYOND actually are.

No offense to any of the developers personally, but all of the current BYOND RPG's (Seika, Mystic Journey etc.) are pretty mediocre. New players ought to have a better example of quality than games that use RPG maker tilesets, have clunky interfaces, and showcase barebones gameplay.

Last Robot Standing is a great example of of creative game design with lots of polish. Not the best game around in my opinion, but much more worthy of first place than anything else in the top ten right now, with the possible exception of "Castle".
I do agree with Aaiko on this, though. If you guys want to put LRS as your favorite because you like it, that's fine, but don't do it just to denominate other games. That's pretty low :P

LRS is a great game with great design and deserves to be high up on there, but it's personally not one of my favorites... I tend to like games more when they make use of AI, at least for training.

Seika isn't a bad game if you like that sort of game, but the problem with it is it could have a whole lot more and appeal to everyone, but it doesn't right now.

As for the game ranks, there supposedly is going to be more types of ranks you can go for whent he new system comes out. The current ranks are quantity over quality; if a lot of people like the game, it will be ranked high... But that doesn't take into account their intentions for liking the game.

And like Silkwizard said, I don't think any chat program should be high in ranks... I don't think they should even be ranked at all with other games. How do you compare a chat interface with an RPG?
How do you compare a chat interface with an RPG?

Like you said, it depends how you're ranking it. I personally liked the community of Chatters regulars when it was still around, I liked the multitude of features such as internal mail, map making, item modification etc. Of course if I was ranking on gameplay i'd vote Chatters low as it has none, but then if I had to vote on how well the game did what it set out to do i'd vote Chatters highly.
As a member of DDT, I wish Seika nothing but greater and greater success. A rising tide lifts all boats!
Y'know, if the rankings only listed games of a certain genre, rather than throwing them into one big melting pot as well, this little argument wouldn't have happened as the games would be compared to other games of that same type; but I'm sure that they won't get rid of the "overall" ranks, so I'm kinda wasting my time here, no?

Aaiko, no offense but Seika is not a good game. :p It's clear a lot of love has been invested in it, but in terms of gameplay it's no where near something like LRS. I logged in a day or two ago and it seemed similar to when I last played it.

Also, LRS is awesome. >_>
