In v1.20 players will earn a new form of currency called Colosseum Emblems through competing in official PvP tournaments hosted at the Colosseum. These Emblems can then be used to purchase special items and armor. Details:
- Everyone who is present at the Colosseum when an official tournament starts will automatically receive one Emblem (spectators too!).
- If you're competing in the tournament then you'll receive an additional Emblem every time your team wins a best 2 out of 3 match.
- ...This means that the potential number of tokens you can win from any given tournament increases alongside the number of participants!
The rewards themselves range from special masks and dyes to actual pieces of armor. The armor consists of Chest and Head pieces and comes in two different tiers - one for max level players, and one for level 20 players. As you may already know, we always host a level 20 bracket in addition to the max level bracket during tournaments. If anyone has been looking to twink out a level 20 PvP character, now's your chance!
The big draw with the Colosseum armor is a new stat called Resilience. This stat only applies to PvP and reduces all damage taken across the board . For example, if you have 5% Resilience then you'll take 5% less damage from other players. Resilience gear is hard to come by and the cap is 20%, but it will definitely make or break many characters in PvP battles.
With all of the new stat modifiers in v1.20 players will have to pick and choose what they want to focus on. They may even want to aquire different sets of armor for different situations (Ex: different sets for PvP and PvE). Anyone looking to put together a great set of PvP armor will definitely need to show up for tournaments.
For this PvP reward system to work we're going to have to host tournaments much more often. After v1.20 is released the plan will be to host official PvP tournaments weekly -- every Sunday at 1:00 PM PST. Knowing how fun the first two official tournaments were, I can't wait to see more!
