Force yourself. The second you force yourself to go something and do it, you automatically will get into the groove and leave your "developers block". It all starts with forcing yourself to do it though. Once you do, you'll get back into it in a heartbeat.

But soon as something in life gets in the way it might be days before I even touch DM again. Recently I have been trying to get in touch with what originally made me learn to program. When I was 13 years old you couldn't keep me off of BYOND. But just seems recently every reason i program has became blurred. I am in college now and my passion has drifted greatly, it went from wanting to be a programmer to being a Mechanical Technician. I see how both relate in my head, both require me to use greater thinking skills but the rewards are so much greater when I get a Engine to run that's been dead for 20 years. I would love to actually finish a project on BYOND. If I could manage to do that I think it would satisfy that need I have for a finish. |

The club isn't just for BYONDers either ;) Especially considering you're in college now and losing your DM drive, I can't really say how it's going to end up for you. I'm going into my senior year of high school and I'm already finding myself having less and less time to work on BYOND projects. If you look too far ahead, you'll never get where you want to go. I suggest really taking it step by step and focusing on the now when you try to program. |
