I've always been of the opinion that pixel art should be viewed at double size. Eh.

Sorry, running off to work and have no time to introduce this one. So... here it is:

I think you could try adding bricks to get rid of the smooth feeling. It'll look even sexier than it already does! :D

Lotsa a detail and a very cool perspective. I could totally see this in a good strategy game. Only one nitpick: the round two level turret closest to the viewer breaks the perspective just a bit. The ovals on the highest levels are too round for that perspective line. Other than that, really cool! |

I added all the details I thought would be visible at that distance, with the colors I allowed myself. I don't think individual bricks or stone slabs would be visible at this distance, and I feel that adding them would detract from the image. Please feel free to modify the image and prove me wrong, though. I'd love to see what another artist could do with that basic image. Add stuff like bricks vines and colors Part of the charm, for me at least, in pixel art is the constraints put on the art. I could have used a different color for every pixel, but I don't think the image would work on the imagination in the same way. When using a limited number of colors like this, I feel that the brain assumes that it isn't seeing the whole thing, and it activates the imagination to fill in the rest. However, like I said before, I'd love to see what you or someone else could do with the image, adding colors and other stuff. |

Looks pretty neat, but I think you need to adjust the perspective of the big tower in front and the one on the right a little bit. They look like they're leaning back towards the castle away from the viewer. An easy fix, though! The center lines in the big tower should be more-less straight, in my opinion. Not to be too nitpicky. Everything else looks awesome, its just those two things that look kind of off. |
