Hey! as a matter of fact I AM CODEING THAT! or at least im codeing some of it.. and useing Guy's code for the rest. i am makeing a differant ship and stuff (and i would like to go about putting my space system in but i dont know how to make it.. great..) and it takes place about 3 planets away from earth and closeing in fast. you are on the ship... er i dont have a ship name yet.. but the computers name is Jared! but the really cool thing about it is each class (given randomly. ie. human, android, marine, the human alien, and the alien human) are going to have there own skills and have there own aqenda in thae game..(this is baced on alien reserection..)

so it should not be a bad game..
More SpaceTug!!! More SpaceTug!!! More SpaceTug!!!

Glad you're enjoying it! I think most of the big bugs are stamped out now... if you do notice any bugs, don't hesitate to let me know ([email protected]). (It does seem to be generating a log chock full of BYOND bugs--I'll do a clean compile and upload a new version.)

I have enough other BYOND plans that I probably won't work on major revamps to SpaceTug anytime soon, but I do plan to release the source code (after a little tidying up) so that people can play with it, learn from it, make their own maps, whatever.

Heh! Yep, that critter is a toughie. Actually its AI isn't very good, so if no one chooses to play the critter, you have a decent chance of making it... but I find that usually, someone is willing to play the critter. :)

Oh man the critter almost never win with them playing... they all want to "set him up" on there own!

the most ingenious thing i have seen so far was getting the cattle prod and the torch and setting up the critter so he is standing right net to a doorway and flameing him (and the acsess flame will go down the other hall so the player dose not get hurt!)

Ooh-- if you are getting BYOND bugs please forward them along. I think this next version will be pretty stable, but clearly we still have some problems.

Just as long as the game is better than the movie.

Half the crew goes for the ramp. Half the crew goes for the top deck airlock. Critter might get a few snacks, but he loses 10 times out of 10.

That's amazing, heh... I have never played that game and not had the critter win. Of course, the last time I played was a couple months ago. And at that time there was a little problem with one or two players who enjoyed releasing all the airlocks and letting everyone get sucked into space.

Oh yes, they're still around...

It's hard though when someone sets of self destruct and runs for the shuttle, and another gets setup to blow the airlock ... if the critter goes for the shuttle, the airlock will get them, and if the critter goes for the guy at the airlock, the place will explode and someone will escape.
What is this SpaceTug, anyway? Some kind of Alien/Awful Green Things From Outer Space take-off?

(Yes, I realize I could find out for myself, but I have a habit of not joining or downloading a game unless the description makes it clear what it is.)

oh its going to be! i am makeing the guns that target things that move now! (with differant cards they di differant things... the easyest card to get is the motion detector card.. it fires at anything that moves.. the hardest card to get is the one with all the aliens on it.. so it will attack every form of alien but not humans.. this last card is right in the middle of the lab... and the lab is where the alins break out of.. its going to be really cool... im adding 3 differant types of guns for the demo and alot of cool stuff for the final...(i plan on getting my own section for this becase i plan on haveing at least 5 compleatly differant ships.. so its going to be hard for it to get boring.. especaly with the shear size of the ships..))

if deadron makes his library about the differant servers working together and i make my space system.. i can have a fleat of ships heading to earth infested with critters.. and if one shp lands with a queen or face huggers on it then you will have to blow it up befor it dose.. makeing for a good twist..

Hmm. I wonder if the rushing air should only affect things within a certain range of the airlock. That'd be more realistic, anyway.

it would with the size of my ship! im makeing a map about half the size of the ones i normally make.. its a 500x200x10 well thats about 1/4 the size of my normal maps.. but still.. and due to the immence size of the ship the hull is 2 layors thick.. all the way around.. (Includeing the bottom but im still at a loss on your splatter code.. among other things..) but i only need to add a few things and make a few changes...( LIKE SLOW THAT DAMN CAT DOWN! HOWS A CRITTER SUPPOISED TO EAT!?!?)

Actually, it's pretty much strictly Alien. Gughunter's allegedly planning on releasing the sourcecode sometime, in which case the engine could concievably be put to use for something more along the lines of AGTFOS or just a generic "nasty things aboard spaceship" game, but in all previous discussions on the matter most people have been pretty bent on maintaining its status as a direct ripoff game.

Even if you don't get sucked out into space, you'll depresurize. The only difference would be that the survivors have more of a mess to clean up. Ewwww....

P.S. The only time I beat the alien, I ruptured the hull a shortly afterwards. Even though I won, I lost!
