I'm just happy about the text importing and exporting. Be berry berry careful about hand exiting text for import to savefiles. It is very hard to create material by hand that is readable by a tool expecting structured input. Unless the import tool provides substantial error reporting, you are likely to end up with files that "just don't work" and you don't know why. Hmm..in fact what you might want to do is create a little tool for yourself (in BYOND or whatever) where you can just be entering text into fields, and the tool will structure the text appropriately for savefile import. That's vastly more likely to succeed. |

That's vastly more likely to succeed. That's kind of what I'm hoping to do... augment my existing room and object editors for Through A Glass Darkly with a file viewer/editor. But for things where I'm going to have multiple very similar varieties of one base object, I think I'm going to trust myself to create the base in-game, then copy the file a bunch of times and change just the values that need altering by hand. |
