ps. at least i get to take computer repair, that will be the only thing REMOTELY cool about school, besides the fact that i get out at 2:45, since i have all of my classes that i need, only 5 =\(usually 8).

Ive been in school for 3 weeks now, damn Danish shortened summer vacation! And I dont get out before 4 every day and it takes me 1 hour and 40 minutes to get home! Did I mention that a shortened summer vacation sucks?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TOWN DAMNIT!!!!!!! I WANT COMP PROGRAMMING CLASS!! I would pass it with an A+, cuz if you saw our teachers, they are easy as cake. And im sure they would teach us something like VB or something. And i already know VB, HAH! Would be nice if i could learn JAVA or C++. Those are the only two langs i want to learn. After that, i plan to either work for, or start my own gaming company. Making and selling online computer games to the masses(if possible.) Oh well, things come one day at a time, the course im taking right now, related to computers, is a course that teaches you electronics, then circuit boards, then how they apply to computers, then you build computers with circuit boards, buy a mother board and stuff, hook it all up, its like a two semeter long process of building a computer, And at the same time, you get A++ Microsoft certified, which will hopefully impress someone. Hopefully if i go to college, i can learn java and C++ there, or at least get a jump start somewhere, Im glad im at least familiar with the binary system, and hex decimals, and some basic programming langs (VB, javascript/html(not that good), batch, and DM). He constantly says he's going to write referrals, but he hardly ever does it. We always put games like Half-Life, AvP, and GTA 2 on his computers to play on the LAN... Poor old guy =) Last year he started on VB and C++, this year I believe we'll be learning what we want to (a more open environment). We can choose from J++, C++, VB, SQL, and some other stuff, I think. I think I'll have to take a year away from programming to get an A+ certification, since I think we have to take plain Electronics before we can take Computer Electronics... For learning Java game programming, I highly suggest a book called Cutting-Edge Java Game Programming. It provides a Java game "framework" that you can work from. It's basically a sort of pre-made system that you can easily make a game from with little programming involved... Kinda like BYOND... The book actually teaches you how the framework functions, and in effect giving you a better understanding of the language. But for beginning Java and learning the basics, I suggest going through any beginner book before looking into the game programming one (I have Sam's Teach Yourself Java 2 in 24 hours (the 24 hour part being total BS)). | |
