lol, but really this will change my life i need to know I am in college and I am learning alot more than what I used to. Over in England though colleges have their own seperate rules. As the same with colleges through out the world. Mainly, a college lets you specify on a certain subject/subjects which you have chosen yourself. Unlike with School you get subjects that you have to do. In college you choose the subject you wish to learn and then you learn. Its also different in away that with my college, my teachers expect me to call them by first name not "Sir" or "Miss". They prefer it if you speak to them as you would with a friend. In college your treated by others as you would treat others yourself. Say if you call people you shouldnt expect the others to actually be nice to you. Whereas if your polite and kindly manoured to your fellow students and teachers you will be treated with kindness back. All my class is like that besides 3 people. Who think it is funny to mess around and do nothing. But thats their own fault because our first exam is on this up coming tuesday. They arent mentally nor physically prepaired for this. They just messed around. A college is for learning. If you dont do what is expected its your own loss. The college teachers expect their students to come out and do well in college. So if your planning on going into college I would expect that you go there to learn and prosper...Try not to muck around like the three people in my class...as if you do you will be very upset with yourself and you dont really get a second chance in college. I hope you do well in college though if you actually do go to one :) Lee |

Thanks Mell, the reason i want to go to college earlier than i have to is because i want to get a better education to be more ready for the future and i dont really like the kids much in highschool because most of them just think of school as a social place as i would go to learn, they really just annoy me thats why i did homeschooling through jr.high...thanks that really helped to know what i should expect from college

If you dont want to learn then dont go. Plus its good that you want to get a better education, thats why I am at college, I want to know more about Computing. I really wanted to get into college and do ND Computing...but because I was one C grade off it I couldnt get into that subject... But what got me more is that the Advanced course was full so I couldnt go into that one so I got droped further and I was put into GNVQ Intermediate ICT...But the best thing about it is that I like the people who I am with they really make me enjoy the subject, all the environment is great...Its really really excellent. Also I am glad I actually got put in this Intermediate group because in the Advanced and ND course all the people there are really miserable and they all hate one another which isnt so good of an environment to work in if you ask me. But I hope you get what you need from college and I will be here to support you if you need any supporting :) Lee |
I'm only taking a few classes, but for me so far it seems just as easy as high school was.

Well as you know i am also from England. I plan to go to college next year. Where as Lee is doing GNVQ ICT i will be doing A level Computing, Biology and Phychology. The colleges in my part of England are very open minded about students but throw people off if they are seen to be complacent.

Well, I'm still only a freshman in high school, and I don't really think this will help that much. My dad went to college a few years ago, he was taking calculus and some other courses (I dont remember which ones). But I remember how long it took him on homework. The homework was optional, he didnt have to do it for a grade, but if he didn't he didn't learn. He was good friends with his teachers, I even met several of his math teachers. I'm trying to say that its very hard to go to college, its nothing like high school, if you dont go the teacher doesn't care, if you don't do your homework the teacher doesn't care, he's paid to be there, your paying to be there. You have to be dedicated to what you choose to take. Don't take easy classes just because they're easy, take the hardest classes you can handle, but dont take to many at a time. Also, I wish you all the luck in the world at finding what you want to take, and finding a good college to go to. And I understand what you mean about high school kids, half my school wouldn't even bother to show up if there weren't any people there for them to socialize with.
If anyone reads this thanks for taking the time to. I just needed to babble about something today. All i can say is please don't disregarde this becuase im still only 15. :) |
At least it is if you study English literature.
