I have a suggestion. How about a plot? Are you gonna wait until you have the battle system done to make a plot? Or are you just gonna grab that straight off of FF too.
In response to Canar
i dont consider Alpha on having a plot, ill wait till the bugs are sorted out, ok?
Version 2 will be up shortly!

Good, I'm not the only one who is just as tired of FinalFantasy remakes as DBZ remakes... They are both copywrited, and I see the use of copywrited works, may they be graphics, storylines, or ideas as a way of saying "I don't want to make my game creative and intresting, so I'll make it just like a game most people have played many times before...". I mean come on, I've played so much FF I shutter when I hear (or speak) it's very name...

Your lucky square doesn't activly go out enforcing their copywrites....
In response to Dreq
Square does enforce copyrights more than Funimation actually -- They just haven't found BYOND yet. By the way what's a "copywrite"?

What about things Like Digimon?
I wouldnt consider that a DBZ-like rip off, because there currently isnt a Digimon Online game, unless you count the D-Power, which sucks

OT:
I havent heard of Square enforcing their copyrights, infact, the only thing I associate Sqaure with is FF.

You have to consider the fact that it's still copyrighted copying a copyrighted thing is illegal even if there's not another one around. How would you feel if someone ripped off your hard work? Probably angry. Summed up I mean; just because there's not another one in a community doesn't make it right to infringe a copyright.

It's how I choose to spell it, get over it ^_^

So that means Fanfics, Fanart, anything fan-made is illegal

It's technically illegal, I suppose. I don't know enough details about the legal system to really say. Personally, being the owner of a whole lot of "original" junk, I wouldn't care if people used my stuff (assuming I knew) unless they were doing one of the following:

1) Ruining the idea. If someone took my prized idea and used it for something which twisted the idea to something I hadn't intended it for and didn't like. (kinda like someone starting the Foomerian Pornography Network!)
2) They were making money off it without permission. I personally wouldn't care if someone was charging 20 cents to give some extra fun in some fan game based off my idea (assuming it wasn't part of reason #1)
3) Used it for something took money/credit/whatever away from me.

Anyone remember hampsterdance.com? Aside from the fact that the original owners screwed it up anyway, someone made a little java game where you can shoot dancing hampsters (and blatantly stole the hampsterdance idea for it), and they got sued for it. That's an example of reason #1 above.

If people were making fan art, games, stories or whatever that actually kept with the original intentions of the idea, I wouldn't have any problems with that, in fact I would probably encourage it.

And lots of people/entities do encourage such fan contributions, at least to the "unofficial" corner of their universes... I think one thing that cannot be stressed enough, though, is that it's not for the person making the fan game/fan fiction/fan art to decide if it's okay... it's for the owner.
In response to Dreq
Copywriting is what advertisers and people who put together catalogs do. :P

well... er, thats neat. May I point out there is already a Final Fantasy Project made by squaresoft named Final Fantasy Online, also known as Final Fantasy XI/11. proof: http://www.playonline.com/ff11/home/index.html. Learn japanese, and maybe one day you too can play it before the us version/test. (goes back to decoding it)
