Now that I have 17 planetary scenes ready to go, what should I make with them? I could make a (fancy) ripoff of star traders just because, I could try to make some kind of space strategy game, exploration game...basically I have no idea, any suggestions? I'm bored.

I'd like to see more of a turn-based space strategy game. Star Traders is already kinda play-at-your-own-pace, but the lack of a save feature and the fact that prices change while you sit around makes it less of a game when you could pop in for a turn or two whenever you felt like it. I like trading games... but since there's already one of those... maybe a game geared more specifically to being a space station mogul. You could decide just what kind of stores and space hotels to build on your outposts, take out loans and make money, try not to go bankrupt? Z |

Well, I think a space trading sim might be nifty. You could trade different resources and make modifications to your ship such as speed, fuel efficiency, and cargo space. Additionally, you might need special upgrades to haul certain cargo, such as refrigeration systems, biological containment systems (for thos medical experiments), and radiation shielding (hauling plutonium can be dangerous). You might also need weapons, shielding, and sensor systems to ward off pirates and more military minded players. Cloaking devices might help you evade combat as well as Imperial taxers. Might be good to keep some Space Marines on board just in case, though. Have you even played Star Traders?? Just about everything you mentioned here is in my game. Or planned to be. I'd like to see a Space RPG, where you can get missions, and land your ship on a planet and walk around etc. Where you have most the ship play and then the player walking around inventory play. LJR |
Masters of Orion II, play that game and you'll know what I'm talking about :)

As a side note, I'm working on a "space trader" game that mirrors Star Traders in a lot of ways, only with the difference that it will offer a more constant world instead of "per-session" play.

Maybe we should work together on a Space Exploration RPG??
I have Galatic Force which is to be my Space Exploration RPG, it will have trading in it but also a storyline. Open-ended play much like one of my favorite old games called, "Star Flight" Both I & II. You'd be able to land and move around on planets as well. Also there would be multiple quadarant maps. LJR |

I have Galatic Force To prevent you from being embarrassed when you actually do start testing, I should tell you that "galatic" is spelled "galactic." I look forward to Galactic Force! :) |
