(Note: The topic name was intentionally spelled wrong =P)
My game, Dragonball Zeta (We're all gettin' sick of the Dragonball games), had 102 players on it a few days back. Is that some kind of record? Or has there been more players on someone else's game before? Just thought I'd ask.

I'm more interested in the data aspects of this.
How bad was the lag? All those in the game at once? What kinda hosting setup was being used? Cable, DSL, T-1+? LJR |

What I'd like to know is whether those people stayed for very long. A peak of 102 isn't too shabby, but I'd be more impressed by a sustained group of 40 for an hour. Skysaw (Who can't wait for the DBZers to grow (up) out of their phase, and move on to more interesting games.) |

well, i hosted it once, and there was 103 people for a period of 30 minuets, we never went below 90 within the 3 hours of hosting

I meant how many people were training of their other keys char.
Example: I login. My other key logs in. I train on my other key. |

Isn't it strange how many people play the fan games, and seemingly *no one* plays the realy BYOND gurus' games?

The point was that whenever you look at the player listing for Zeta...you always see a few names in there multiple times...
Here's an example, taken right now: SS-Strider, Zero-Exodus, Xalor, Voketa, Cirva, Zero-Exodus, GokuDBZ3128, Gansta11, Legendary Warrior, Coran, Macros, Ludacris_br, Gecko_50511, ssj7_geata, Bowser, Azare, Teen Trunks, Turkko, The 4th Ring Wraithe, Legendary Warrior, Zidan, Alein, Gogeta_00, Gothking, Dracon, Camara, Lord Zycarr, Coran, HADOKEN, Mario_Wario, Row920, Weigraf, Legendary Warrior, Kao King, Kenjo, Coranger, Agent Zer0, Turkko, Miko_17, DBZFreak, HADOKEN, ShadowMaster, Agent Zer0, Goku72, Goku_Ct00, Majin Goku 4, Tetsudah, DrkZero, TeenGohan, GuardianVid, Future_trunksSSJ, Buzza, LilTrunks, HADOKEN, SS5 Bebi Goku, Phenix Master, DrkZero, Phenix Master, Karnal_Shadow, Jotdaniel, Karnal_Shadow, Rinereg, Gohan saiya-jin, Mua'dib, Mr Satan, Ishar I've highlighted the multiples I picked out of that list... Right there you've got 18 names logged in that are only 8 actual players... That means your count is over by 10... And that's just from this particular test... Every single time I see the Zeta listing, there's a ton of them (mosttimes more than tonight's example)... Which means that the actual total player count is probably a lot less than the claimed records... [Edit:] I missed some :) |
Another philosophical quandary: If a record number of players log into a game, and it's a DBZ game, does the record really count for anything?
