So let me get this right
Exchange Rate 0.10 USD/BYONDime
Withdrawal Fee 50 dimes + 10% of check
So if I wanted to withdrawl saw for example 500 DIMES, then I'd have to give u guys an extra 100 DIMES!?

Try 50 :P

No, the withdrawl fee is 50 dimes, PLUS %10 of the check. In this case it would be 500 dimes. %10 of 500 is 50. 50 dimes fee, plus the %10 (50) is 100.

Go to withdraw, type in the amount you want and the form of withdrawl you want, and it will give you the actual amount in $'s that you'll be getting.

"Man! Phew-ee! I suck at programming! Yes, I must be the worst programmer that ever lived!"
As far as I know, good programmers do admit that they're good programmers. They just don't do it too often, and they retain shreds of modesty when someone complements them on it. "man, ur the best programmer at Byond." "Well, no, not really -- there's others far better at it than me." |
here are some peoples codeing compared.

Naw, I use Dantom as their organization/group/work name :-, not to refer to them as they would be in society.
hmmm, that would make a good movie... i can see the trailer now.. ** Speaks in deep, echoey voice** There once was an entity, one with unimaginary ability to program a software that would build a community. People say this entity is made up of Two people.. Dan and Tom. these two people have fused their skills to form this one Internet Omnipresent Being.. this being, was known as DANTOM.. **DUM DUM DUMMMMMMMMM**. Well maybe not... --Ken |
Wrong, Ken. this is how it should be.
Tom was sitting there on one happy day, when Dan came along. Tom said Hey You! Dan said yo. Tom said wanna fuse? Dan said Yes *Tom now going SSJ * Tom: MWAHAHHAHAHAA *Dan now going SSJ * Dan: MWAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Then they fused to create DanTom LOL! - RaeKwon |
NOOOOOO! NOOOOOOO!
I tried to post a form of humor, and you kill it.. WHY... *bows head and whispers*, why.. why must take all joy away from me.. EXCEPT YOU. *In other words* Why for you bury me in the cold, cold ground? --Ken |
Just because it's fun.
RaeKwon --- SonVegitto ------- Spuzzum ---------------------------------- Dan -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Foomer ---------- Sariat --- Nadrew ------------At least, that's how I figure it :oP And either Dan or Tom has admitted that there are programmers on BYOND who are more skilled than they are, if I recall. |
Okay, so you can do simple math. Now, let's do some real world math. 100 dimes = $10. Let's say, years from now, BYOND is huge and you're making profits on your games. You decide to withdraw 10000 dimes ($1,000 dollars.) You'd pay Dantom $105 for this transaction. $105 out of $1,000 isn't too shabby... you don't pay Dantom any royalties or licensing fees, after all. You get free technical support. You've had an opportunity to help shape the final end product which has made you this money.
Little picture, it hardly does seem worth it to withdraw a couple hundred dimes now, does it? Guess what? It hardly's worth it for Dantom to process the transaction, either... or wouldn't be, if they didn't charge a service fee. They MAKE it cost effective for themselves, because otherwise, their labor of love would have long since been swallowed up in paperwork and bookkeeping and banking fees as ten and twelve year olds put their allowances in and take them out and put them in again. If you deposited a few dimes so you can play some games with pay features, don't be too upset that you can't get them back. You deposited them to spend, after all. I mean, you don't get half your money back if you never finish playing Metal Gear Solid, do you? Anyways, the withdrawl fee isn't exactly a military secret... caveat emptor... if you go sticking dimes somewhere without reading the not-so-fine print, you might as well be throwing them in a big, black hole. |
