Its been a week now....
chat system.
(note0: Yes I know oldbies used to wait months, but byond has been striving for a timely review process.)
(note1: I clicked the request review process the day I submited it.)

I put my "The generic wester shoot 'em up game" up for review yesterday. It was requested for changes, I have met those changes, so don't worry about it :P

I think there should be a link on the site to view all the games outside of the forum, and to have the community to vote on it. *One vote per person due to IP addresses*. It would make it easier for all of us.

If we want BYOND to grow, we need to have some quality standards for the games published. Turning hub submissions into a popularity contest is a very bad idea.
Besides, IP monitoring means nothing. I have easy access to 5 domains and I live in a fairly small town. |

It would make it easier for all of us. This community is swamped with DBZers. Their kind has an annoying tendency to spam voting systems in order to push one game or another to the top. That alone is reason enough to avoid a community vote, but there are others. Lummox JR |

It would be nice if we could all vote for a game, yes yes, it sure would. But here is an alternate idea.
THINKING OUT LOUD ->I believe that we should have a privilage to vote, but there should be an application of some sort, in order to become a qualified critic. I know that 99.9% of these DBZers you talk about neither know about, care about, or use the forums anyway. Here are some ideas for some applications. 1) Write a letter/email to Dan/Tom/Dantom stating why you should be a tester, etc. *Question may vary* 2) have a website application where you answer questions based on judgement, in order to see if you are qualified. *This seems better, and the applicant (If passed) could get a very small 'Sub Admin' flag which only gives them privilages to post a comment on a game, and if the game has enough positive marks, it will be passed up to the main Hub* -=Just some basic ideas to help out=- --==::Neo::==-- P.S: The Matrix has you. |

Yeah, because Dantom have all the time in the world to sort through e-mails saying "i wanna b3 a tester that wuld be sooooo kewl!!1!!111!" 2) have a website application where you answer questions based on judgement, in order to see if you are qualified. *This seems better, and the applicant (If passed) could get a very small 'Sub Admin' flag which only gives them privilages to post a comment on a game, and if the game has enough positive marks, it will be passed up to the main Hub* Someone would still have to review the answers to those questions, which poses the same problem. I don't see any kind of application system as being a good solution to this. Having more reviewers would certainly be good, but I think it's better to do that by invitation from Dantom rather than free-for-all applications. Lummox JR |

LummoxJR you should sign up to be a reviewer.

LummoxJR.DMexp > world.SumDMexp - Dantom.DMexp - LummoxJR.DMexp I translate this as: the total sum of experience with DM of everyone but Dantom and LummoxJR must be less than Lummox's individual experience. -AbyssDragon |

Ya I get the impression that lummoxJR knows what he is doing.
