I believe that the next great attack on the world will be stratigic bombings of McDonalds everywhere. What would the world do without a steady stream of sacred cow meat?

If MacDonalds' makes you fat and clogs your arteries with cholesterol, it's because of all the carbs in the bun and the french fries, and the mega-size soft drinks.* The idea that you get fat, or increase the amount of fat in your blood, by eating fat has as much scientific foundation as ritualistic cannibalism... if you eat someone strong, does it make you stronger?
Anyone who wants a real guide to eating healthy, not this food pyramid crap that's been keeping Americans overweight, keeping Americans diabetic and giving Americans heart attacks since its inception, I heartily recommend Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution... don't let the title fool you, this book has been in continuous publication since the 60s or 70s. This diet is responsible for my parents' recovery from the brink of diabetes and heart disease, and the permanent loss of pounds that I'm sure is near the triple digits, each. The idea is to cut carbohydrates from your diet... numerous facts support this practice. First of all, the body uses energy from fat most efficiently at a low to moderate level of activity, like taking a leisurely stroll (I recently read this in US News and World Report, I no longer have the issue, but others here might have read it, or the articles it was citing.), whereas energy from sugar is more efficiently used at higher levels of activity... translation, you can work off ingested fat easier than you can work off ingested sugar. Even if you subscribe to the admittedly attractive theory that "calories is calories is calories", the human mind and body are more readily satisfied by a massy bit of meat than they are by rice and salad... you will be "full" while ingesting less carbs from meat than you would be from eating, well, carbs. The dangers of eating too much meat (fat, cholesterol, etc)? Vastly overrated. That's not cow fat that clings to your thighs, it's people fat, made by your body to store leftover energy... doesn't matter if the energy comes from sugar or fat, but as mentioned above, you need a higher level of activity to burn up the energy from sugar. If you want statistical data... take a look at the tribes of people which have lived around the arctic circle. They eat fat all the time. They literally eat (or more often drink) fat, plain animal fat. They don't have cholesterol problems. They don't die of heart attacks. They're extremely healthy people. Note that I myself am not on this diet, but I'm also moderately overweight and not extremely energetic. I'm 22, I feel free to indulge myself for a few more years. I just don't delude myself into thinking that eating rice is any better than eating a bunch of sugar. *They don't even offer a small any more. It's like medium, large, extra large. I've written the corporate headquarters numerous times trying to explain to them how they can't possibly have medium without having something below it, but they never respond. |

Oh, I love the Subway diet. "If you eat two subway sandwiches a day and walk and walk and walk and walk, you'll lose weight." Guess what? Eat two cheeseburgers and walk and walk and walk and walk and walk, you'll lose weight. Eat two slices of pizza and walk and walk and walk and walk, and you'll lose weight, too. It's not what he ate that made Jared lose weight, it's the fact that he kept his portions down to a reasonable size by picking something that satisfied him (evidently, Subway sandwiches), and he burned more calories than he took in.
That's not at all what I'm talking about. Although that works, it requires a lot of maintenance (he's got to keep walking, or it'll come right back)... that, and Subway sandwiches are high in carbs (big fluffy bread, veggies, etc.) and the sandwiches that are part of the "diet" are low in fat. |

This diet is responsible for my parents' recovery from the brink of diabetes and heart disease, and the permanent loss of pounds that I'm sure is near the triple digits, each. Yes, I can vouch for it as well. I'm not on it currently, but I tried it a few years ago and lost 25 pounds with ease, and felt great the whole time. There was also a very recent (and long) article in the New York Times -- within the last two or three weeks, I think -- that focused on low-carb dieting and indicated that the health benefits are becoming increasingly accepted in the general medical community. There are numerous variants on the Atkins diet, too; one of the more well-known is the Carbohydrate Addict's Diet, which is basically the Atkins diet but lets you eat whatever you want for one hour (not a minute more, and not split up into multiple smaller segments) each day. I guess the idea is that if you limit the high-carb stuff to one hour a day, it won't be a prolonged enough exposure to knock the body out of ketosis. |

Whether you believe this or not its true, not all things can be scientifically proven, in fact science itself is not an exact science.. there are many things science WILL never explain. not because its unable, but because scientists refuse to look for certain answers. With that said. Cannibalism is foul. its sick. its physically repulsive. However it does increase your strength. you dont get the physical power of the person but their residue life source that has recently passed through the tissue.. call this (psuedo gothic dark art science) if you want. I will never eat human flesh. not unless i needed to do it to survive. even that thought makes me hesitant. Doing this scars your soul. Eating the flesh empowers your soul which is a driving force of your brain located in the brain. The body is just a machine. an item, a tool used to interact with the world. So will eating human flesh allow you to gain strength? No.. but it could allow you to live forever. No studies have been done on this.. and personally i hope they never are. |
