I think it would be interesting if when a person signed up for a key, the e-mail address they provide was checked against a list of existing e-mail adresses. Only 1 key could be made per e-mail address. I saw this used somewhere before. Also, in that service, when signing up you couldn't use free e-mail providers such as, hotmail, yahoo, etc.
I think that this could be one step to be taken against fraud in the BYOND community. I have seen far too many cases of people selling false items under alternate keys, and I think would be best to stop these immoral individuals.
That is just an idea from me. Any support or criticism would be appriciated.
That wouldn't stop many frauds, there are a ton of services on the web that offer free email. Off the top of my head, yahoo, geocities, hotmail. Add that to your current ISP and you have 4. You aren't stopping much by doing that.

That's why I included the part about possibly blocking out free e-mail providers. People these days should have their own email address, and if they don't they can spend a couple extra bucks on one.

1. i aint gonna pay 100 bucks for some email
2. we may need a second account for testing purposes etc.
To add on other points in this thread, you're only allow to have 3 keys on one computer at a given time (well more if you made them before the key limit was made), and simply deleting your key data from your computer won't work because I think the number goes up everytime you use a new key from your computer.

Blocking free email providers would block out many people who do absoloutly nothing wrong as well as catching out the frauders. Thats like bombing Sydeny because you have reason to believe that a terrorist lives their.

Yeah, I agree 100% there. I dont have a e-mail address provided by my ISP, they only give one and I let my Mum have it since I prefere my hotmail account.
Anyway, a lot of the people who are scamming dimes under fake names are the sorts of people who can afford to get a second e-mail.
Personally I can AFFORD to get a personal e-mail address, but I cant actually get one because of several reasons. One of the main ones being, where I live people arent as comfortable with the idea of Internet Shopping.
And Im sure that for a lot of the BYOND community they simply dont have the money, a lot of BYOND is teenagers living with there perants.
Ive gone insanely off the topic here though. The main point was, by saying no to free e-mails, your basically charging people to use BYOND.

And how would you tell if an email address is free, without visiting them all? Would you be the person that wants to hunt down free providers?
