Amen to that! If you've played The Thing for Xbox and Playstation 2, you'll notice the textures and such look allot nicer on the X. two of the games I am waiting for is Fable and Deathrow, which looks awesome.

Because back in the day when I liked what microsoft offered and laughed at those who turned to macs or complained all the time. Those who thought microsoft was evil and are trying to take over the world. But now, after reading alot on it I realise microsoft pretty much just wants to own it all. they do it so innocently too. like registering the basic fonts and removing them for download from their website so linux users get hassled. let us not forget when they tried to buy out the makers of Javascript [sunsoft or whatever] and so when they refused to sell Javascript, microsoft went ahead and made C# to get rid of standard in the future. The console industry belongs to Japan. They started it all there, they are the ones who bring us the best games. Microsoft just wants to have a new market to make money from. throwing their money around for advertising and bribing companies to put their games on the Xbox. I want sony and Nintendo to thrive. Plus I am sick of how the letter X is used for everything.

I have recently lost all my respect for microsoft. not only because of the shitbox

I am an Otaku. Otaku is a Japanese slang word for "addict" in reference to one addicted to the Japanese culture. As growing up I had been a hardcore Nintendo Loyalist. I also enjoy Japan's anime immensely, and even hope to live there someday. The gaming and electronics industry is basically all in Japan. And I don't want asshole americans taking it away, especially an evil corporation like microsoft. Most people only care about Xbox because of the nationalistic patriotic crap and pride in their country pff. One of the reasons why I want to move away. Halo is really the only good game worth getting an Xbox for, if it doesnt freeze on you. The rest of the good ones are on other consoles or the PC.

And in case you wondered, no I do not have any Japanese ancestors or family so i am only bias because of interests and the way the world works.

I apologise for the language, as much as I hate people who swear, I have the habit of doing it myself when I really want to emphasize anger :)

Please explain to me how being in love with someone else's country makes any more sense than being in love with one's own country. I love Nintendo and think they make great games unmatchable for good clean fun. This is, in my eyes, the only really relevant issue here. I don't care the least bit whether they're from Japan, America, France, Russia, the moon, the magical land of Narnia, or whatever.

i added a bit to that after i originally posted.

for one, loss of money in the industry, and because the games the japanese produce are better. they have much more creativity and adventure, as well as humour. their is just a certain style and flavor to games coming from japan. if you want to argue about clean fun then lets think.

the xbox could maybe have better graphics, i wouldnt know. however with the combined game selection of the ps2, psx, and gamecube you cant go wrong. the ps2 alone is better. it plays all the psx games, it has the dvd ability, and it doesnt have a huge ass controller the size of a gamecube system.

maybe if xbox got some more good games it might be worth it. halo? wow youll get sick of it eventually.

They arn't bribing, they're making a deal in which the other company can gain money. Besides, what's wrong with the letter X? what did it do to you?

There are more people who like playstation 2 than Xbox here, allot more people, the ones who try to make up a lame excuse saying "It uses computer parts, your wasting money on a computer!" when the truth is all consoles are basicly a computer.

wow, Halo has never once froze on me. There are also plenty of other good games, such as Jet Set Radio Future, Dead or Alive 3, Blade 2, Hunter: The Reckoning, Fable, Deathrow, and Star Wars: Knights of the old republic, not to mention the ones that will be availible online, including Star Wars Galaxies.

And the really great thing is that, in spite of all that stupid crap you just mentioned, Nintendo still makes a lot of really, really fun games. Now that's talent.

Actually, I apologize; that was far too harsh. Compared to many other Japanese game producers, Nintendo simply does a better job of creating games that don't rely on cultural idioms for their sense of fun. They are truly creating games for everybody, not just local markets and culturally lost Americans. Sure, games that don't do this are still often fine games with some solid ideas going into them, but there's a few extra layers of cultural boundaries that serve only to alienate those outside the culture.

They were stupid and didnt team up with sony because they though the idea of CDs was crazy when the PSX was in development. Sony offeded them a merger in gaming systems, but nen. turned them down. That was there tragic mistake. And after the N64(which had only a few good titles, but a great control) i have lost my backing in nentendo. They seem very young aiming. They dont seem to capture the teen to adult croud very much. The PS2 is the good mix. The X-box is mostly adult/Teen aimed. I own a PS2, it works perfic for my family because we have a 5 your old, 16(me) year old, and a 20 year old who all play games alot. But when it all comes down to it, the PC is truely the ultimate gaming console(not realy a console.) With web access, hard drive,(*) high ram, (*)fast proccesser, and easly hacked or modified games, it makes it the best thing to play games on. And isnt that just what all game systems are going to.
