Would anyone actually play a MUD where the "goal" is to survive in a prehistoric(ish) jungle, hunting prehistoric monsters, foraging for plants, and making things out of whatever you can find to benefit yourself and your tribe, if you have one?

Well it's not the idea that would keep me from playing it. If the idea is implemented well to provide moderate challenge that isn't too tedious I'd play it.

ummmmmmm...... Not really, no. If it had graphics so you coud see what you are carving, or hunting, and such, then I would play it. it's not the idea I don't like, its the type of game your making.
*Grunts and nods yes*

*Goes back to foraging for berries*

Certainly :)
As long as you give me a Signpost of Beaver Skinning +5 when I start out, ya know, cave man to cave man?
In response to Alathon
Okay, but it will look like an ordinary stick, and the +5 will only be effective on beavers, which don't exist in this game.

I will still be the l337'est caveman in town, with my uber hax0r stick of beaver skinning. Where's that l337speak generator of yours, Foomer?
In response to Alathon
Languages aren't in this version, sorry.
In response to Foomer
So we can only grunt and point at things?
In response to Garthor
Yeah, get used to that emote command. :o)
