Who's Sean, I see Sean's Tune in your desktop :P

Sean is one of my younger brothers. :P

I got some work to do too... My mum went into hospital this morning so I have to show my resposibility and order more in the house now.

So, if you don't see me online often then you know I will be trying to keep the house in perfect working order for my mum when she is out of hospital ;)

DBZ vs capcom? whats that?

That would be Dragonball Z Vs Capcom (Street Fighter)...

In other terms, it is a 2D Fighting game based on few Dragonball characters and few Capcom characters. The game is similar if not the same as M.U.G.E.N.

http://indiestep.sourceforge.net/ is supposed to be pretty stable, but I have not installed it yet...

I'm a bit disturbed that they mention nothing of WinXP, but since I'm still on Win98SE, I think I'll be all right.
I'm curious enough to try this, so I'll download it today and probably play around with it over the weekend, when I'm not playing Lode Wars or hosting Incursion (Sunday noon BST).

LummoxJR - you'll need a normal LiteStep first - this seems to be an upgrade patch that continues where the last version left off. It complains about not finding the step.rc file...

Try http://shellfront.org/, http://www.litestep.com/, and http://litestep.net/ to find the latest builds...

I found a litestep_installer_2.0.1.exe that works ok - the author has a readme that says he tested it on Win98 and WinXP.

Yes, if you a fan of the C&C series or just like shoot em' ups, you should check it out. It is unlike any other C&C, but keeps to the storyline.

my computer = 21" monitor running 1024x786 resolution.
In response to Jotdaniel
Phoo. 1600x1200 is a much better resolution for that monitor size. You can, like, see the pixels and everything like that.

well, I would run something better, but im like...half blind. not to mention the fact that you cant READ anything at that resolution. (which I just switched to and am typing this in, i really cant read it.)
In response to Jotdaniel
Meh, I read just fine at it.. In fact, I usually set the font size down in everything.

I have 20-70 vision, with a lazy right eye, doctor wont give me glasses(gettin a second opinion soon), I'm about two and a half to 3 feet away from the monitor (but im farsighted so its better for me to be farther away.) I cant read a damn thing at that large of a font.
In response to Jotdaniel
Heh.. okay :-)

I'm just a big fan of super-high resolutions.

That's okay; I can make a step.rc from scratch. I'm slowly building one now.
Problem is, I've come to my first check: The popup2.dll module hides file extensions when it displays a folder, and there appears to be no way to change this. I'd like to get the idiot who decided on that "feature" a job at Microsoft (who love to pull that kind of crap)--and then break his arms.
I can't use this popup module if it's gonna do that; I refuse to accept that. I can't seem to find a modification that accounts for this behavior and fixes it.

Right now I'm looking for--and not finding--a forum or newsgroup where I can rail against this. The only Litestep newsgroups I can find are on a server that's denying me access to even read messages, and the forums are either too quiet or too general (focusing on all shell replacements, not just Litestep).
I can't believe that a tool that was intended to improve users' options would pull something this stupid. I further can't believe that no one would have done a workaround by now.
I hope to find more info on this tomorrow.
