Oh boy, Oh boy, I can't wait for Metroid Prime! Read the following article snip from http://cube.ign.com about Metroid Prime.
Behind every good game, there is usually good technology. Sometimes the game engine produces beautiful visuals, ambitious art design, or clever physics. In the case of Metroid Prime, it has the best of all worlds, featuring a fantastic engine that brings the team's visions to life at a slick 60 frames per second. Stunning art design seems to have moved from concept to real-time implementation without a hitch. There's no doubt that the artists at Retro Studios are very talented individuals, and they've been able to achieve moody, multi-faceted environments all thanks to remarkably flexible technology. One of the most impressive aspects of all is Metroid Prime's character rendering. Our sultry heroine Samus is absolutely breathtaking, and easily one of the most detailed models we've ever laid eyes on; jointed metal sheathing encases her hidden body, bending and reflecting light with jaw-dropping realism. The first time you see the camera swing around Samus in a cut-scene, it is inevitable that you stop breathing to momentarily take in all the detail. From tip-to-toe-to-fingertips, with motion capture animation and precision modeling, Samus is more dazzling in 3D than we could have ever imagined.
The detail doesn't end there. The in-game effects are also astonishing with a great deal of attention to detail. The visor effects are fantastic, featuring condensation, pressure cracks, static, and much more. One specific effect reveals a flash of Samus's face on the inside of her visor, which occurs when a close burst of light fills the inside of her helmet to create a reflection. It's something that doesn't affect gameplay, but it's just one of those ultra-cool details that produces an oooh or an ahhh the first time you see it. It's not long before you figure out it's possible to nestle the butt of your blaster up against a wall and fire off a charge blast to reproduce the effect -- it quickly becomes a bit of an unhealthy addiction for hardcore Metroid fans.
The graphics are absolutely outstanding.. and all I can say is "Halo? What's Halo?"

Once you get past the fact you can drive vehicles in halo the game gets tedious and boring with repetitive maps.

There, ok, now i really dont see why you had to try get a dig in against Halo. Its a good game just because you choose to get a PS2 and a Cube Dracons doesnt mean you have to be against the only other console. i say this because you always first in there with your croonies backing you up, Majin because hes a little Draconite and Fuzzy because well... Hes just Fuzzy what do you expect? Anyway after your copied text from IGN i was quite impressed with metroid being a fan of the old Snes one i had high hopes for one on the 64, but i only had Smash bros to use her on But nether the less she was one of the best chars on it :P I do hope that some of my friends get it. again though i doubt it will take halos podium...~ Maz |

doesnt matter xbox is the lowest selling console world wide...thats good enough proof for me...and i have an xbox and dont like it...halo is boring smash bros is still fun...ps2 just has alot of games....

This business with insults against consoles is getting repetitive and inane. All of the consoles are good... why can't anyone get this into their heads? Each console has something to offer, and some people are going to like one over the other. But why is it necessary to defend your purchase by insulting someone else's choice?
Each platform has good games to offer, and it just gets irritating seeing the stupid flames and insults. I am an xbox owner, but it irritates me when xbox fans do it just as much as it does when someone else does it. I don't know about anyone else here, but I am a fan of GAMES. |

Oh boy, Oh boy, I can't wait for Metroid Prime! Read the following article snip from http://cube.ign.com about Metroid Prime. Halo was given the "Game of the Year" title. I don't think Metroid Prime may turn out to be a good game but on a a different scale. As I said before one is pure shooter ones a adventure type. The 2 are incompareable and if you try to compare them you will be no better than the communists... Punkrock547 |

Are you saying you didn't beat the original Metroid in under an hour and a half in order to get the special play mode where she takes her helmet off?! I thought everyone did that!

It's easier in the SNES one where all you have to do is die to figure it out.

I'm pretty ignorant on the subject, but from what I grasp this is the difference:
GameCube: Cheaper than the others. Can't beat that. Playstation 2: Allows you to run PS1 games as well. Xbox: Memory, so you can leave a skid mark on the road and come back a month later to find it still there (though a bit worn). |

That's right, her clothing explodes in that one... Same thing in the new Gameboy Advance one, Metroid Fusion (which I finished last night.. fun game, by the way).

Gamecube has the highest average quality in games and (arguably) the second-best graphic capability, and very little online support. Some think there are too many "kiddie" games, though I don't mind it. Retails at $150. Cannot play DVDs or audio CDs.
PS2 has by far the most good games, because of the sheer amount of titles there are, and it has some online support. It also has the least graphic capabality. Retails at $200. Plays DVDs and audio CDs. Xbox has many good games, but they are balanced by a pretty good amount of mediocre titles, too. It has (arguably) the best graphic capability. It also has the best online support, even though it isn't free. Retails at $200. Plays DVDs with a $30 extension. Plays audio CDs and can store them on the hard drive. Some of my points can be argued against. For instance, some say Gamecube's graphics are better than the Xbox. I don't think they are, and thats why I chose Xbox over it, but everyone has different tastes. As you can see, however, all of them have their good points and their bad points. Its pointless and stupid to insult someone else's choice just because they have different tastes. |
