I know there is going to be Xbox Live!, and it's pay to use, and only for limited games...but what about PS2? I think it's free, but only goes with the games that you have. Or something like that. Can anybody fill me in on this information?

Yeah, the voice communicator seems kick ass. I think I might got with an Xbox, seeing how they will "unlag" and have all this cool stuff with Xbox Live (Buddy List, etc)

When you get bored of playing games on your Xbox, you can turn it into a decent low-cost DSL/Cable/Broadband router for the home!
And I hear that a Linux distro is out for the PS/2 already! |

After a slow trickle of quality games, there are actually four amazing XBox titles that I simply must pick up this month, and at least another four that are out between now and March. That's not including the Live pack and its two included games. |

Third parties work on Xbox Linux distributions knowing that Microsoft loses money on the hardware. Sony distributes a PS2 Linux. Linux is the developing environment for PS2 anyway. Linux distributions for PS/2 have been around for years. PS/2 is an old IBM system. ;) |

My dad's old PS/2 was essentially a game machine to me - I played nothing but FlightSim and Sierra games (like SpaceQuest, KingsQuest, PoliceQuest, LeisureSuit Larry, etc.) on it. Cut my teeth on CompuServe and The Well with it too! |

Actually, ps2 is free only for a 56k modem. You have to pay to use the faster one. Xbox doesn't have the 56k, only the fast one.

There's going to be an Xbox Live! Package?!?!
As in: An Xbox 2 games Xbox Live! subscription Communicator BTW, how many controllers can an Xbox hold normally and how many does it come with? |

And most games are likely to use the broadband version. SOCOM was supposed to only use broadband, but people cheated it. I am sure that this problem will be taken care of in the future.

The games are Jet Set Radio Future and SEGA GT 2002. I have JSRF, and it's very fun. I payed $50 for it, but you can get it for free. The Xbox Live package comes with the online games Whacked! and the demo version of MotoGP. It also comes with the communicator and a year of service. |

I don't know about the PS2 option, but Xbox is < $50 for a year, and that includes the service, the hardware, and the voice communicator. There are a small handful of games that already support Xbox Live and a ton scheduled for release in the next two months.
