Well, what do ya wan't to know? thats the big question! It all depends on what style of DBZ Game your making, there are about 4 kinds of DBZ Games, Zeta Rips, Genesis Rips, DBTC and Dragonball Legends (<---- my game!). The original Zeta and Genesis games are awesome, if you can find them. The rips usually suck, some are ok, but they usually suck. My game is totally original, original icons, Game Play is original, don't just train, you can go around and interact with citizens of cities, and go on quests to find the Dragonballs in order to Revive Goku for Chi-Chi, (<---- still being made so none fo that is in). but, its still got the best Icons on the Byond HUB I think!

First of all, you shouldn't brag about your icons. I bet Foomer's icons are better, and the GUI for Kwigibo blows your game out of the water, most likely. Second of all, DBZ and original are mutually exclusive. A game cannot be original if it's based off of something else. Period.

Arent the icons just ripped from Hyper Dimension for SNES?
Also, Genesis, Zeta and Legends are all basically the same style. You use verbs to attack in real time fights, with the goal of getting stronger. With a few 'quests' on the side. -DogMan |

Garthor, you just can't leave me alone, can you? Now, I know that I used a few Hyper Dimension Icons, and I take pride in the fact that I have spent 5 months editing, and fixing all little graphic bugs in those icons, and I also made 80% of them, from scratch, using just a still pic from the net and taking small pixel movements to make my icons complete. Also, Almost Every game on byond has an Attack Verb for Realtime combat with the goal of getting stronger. Though I could make a great game like Kwijibo, I am a big fan of DBZ, and prefer to make a DBZ Game. If you have a problem, I don't care. Its my time I'm "wasting", not yours.!

If one was to 'base' a game off of an Anime, Dragonball Z for now seing as we are on the topic of it. Then, the creator does everything his/herself. IE; Quests, Icons, Town names, Character names, etc... If everything in the game is done solely by the creator and off of his/her own mind creation, then it is over 90% original. Only thing that is not original is the name. IE; Dragonball Z: Secret Fusion Chronicals. My point being, if you create a game with all your own aspects, nothing like the anime, then, and only then can you say it is of originality. With one exception of the name. Get where my post is going now? --Lee |

But if you edited a still pic, those aren't original or from scratch. Almost Every game on byond has an Attack Verb for Realtime combat with the goal of getting stronger Just because every game has that, it doesn't mean that games must have that to be good. BYOND needs variety, not more "MMORPGs", especially DBZ ones. I could make a great game like Kwijibo, I am a big fan of DBZ, and prefer to make a DBZ Game. Then why don't you make a great game like Kwijibo? |

Well, if that's the case, then it would be like slapping a DBZ name on HRH. If not, then it is not original. Either way, you're wrong.

What his saying is that there is a degree of originality, not that its totally original. HrH probably isnt original by your definition, since Im sure that Lexy has made something in it that isnt entirely her creation (Sure, she did it her way, but it was based on something else). Actually, according to your definition HrH isnt that original at all. Almost none of the skills learnt in it where Lexy's ideas. Lexy is good and all, but I dont think she invented foxes, or burrowing. -DogMan |

My point is, either he's putting a DBZ label on a game that has nothing to do with DBZ, which is stupid, or his game is NOT original (hey, is the root word of original origin?), which is in contradiction of what he said earlier, which is also stupid.
