For games like Everquest and Asherons Call, id be willing to pay 12-18 cdn dollars a month, no more.
but if I were given the option and there was a truly magnificent online game id probablly pay up to 30 -36 canadian dollars a month.
What about you people?

I've never paid a cent for an online game and I plan to stay that way.
|
20 CAD is as far as I'd ever go, for any game -- $240 per year is almost ridiculous.

I payed for Everquest and UO for a few months after my free 1, but not to much. Its 10 USD for both. I wouldnt pay for anyother type of game(shooter and such). I play lots of online games, and i dont pay a dime, and if i had to, i wouldnt play them.

thats not what i wrote at all.
i said that it was never made. not that it wont. i asked, using as little words as possible, how much would you pay for the very best game that you would ever play in your entire life. (payments in regards to subscription) In other words Best graphics No lag No unscheduled downtime Steady Bug Fixes Constant patches and upgrades Most playability |

You're almost ripping them off, especially making them waste valuable time taking what is basically Monopoly money to the bank to exchange it! Anyway, I'm going to pay whatever the price is for World of Warcraft when it comes out (probably $300+ Canadian per month). |

Well, Online Games (MMORPGs, more specifically, which is what I assume you're usually talking about) aren't something that I tend to enjoy. Mostly because the fellow players are jerks or idiots, and because they're addicting and end up sucking away whatever normal life I have at the time. So if I ever play them, it's because they have a free demo and I'm forced to quit by the time it runs out.
Aside from that, most online games I've tried are just various forms of senseless slaughter, pleasantly presented, which isn't what I want. So I'd conclude that you don't want my opinion. Although an online version of Zelda 64-type gaming would be very neat. |
I would say about a maximum of $20 for an oustanding game. For most games I wouldn't pay more than $10 a month (and I haven't yet).
Anygame worth buying should give me at least 1 month of entertainment (most I buy give much more since I ask friends about them first) so I figure paying $10 to extend the enjoyment I get out of a game for a month is worth it. I would like to see some statistics for large online games such as how much server maintenance costs are, paying staff to maintian and update the game, and anything else that seems relevant so I can see how much a company needs to charge to make a profit. |
My GS3 subscription is about $15 a month. But they have a mirror of the game were you can play with fewer people, for $40 a month. It used to be $80 a month and they still had a hundred or more subscribers. This is a text-based RPG, mind you.

I wouldn't pay more than $20 for any online game, but I'd really like only $10 ones.
|
I wont pay.Sure it costs to run thje servers and tech support and etc, but look at C&C.They dont charge extra for you to play online. So I stick to BYOND and C&C Red Alert 2.

Hypothetically, the best online game has just been released. Right now, I have no job so I probably couldn't afford to play it. But, if I had the money, I would probably spend no more than $10 a month on the best online game. |

Nothing can be the best game in the world.
Reason being is that not all people like all types of games, you can have the best games in the world in types of popularity and genre mixed together, but one game alone cannot be the best, or so I would say so. --Lee |

Nothing can be the best game in the world. That's why it's a hypothetical situation. |
