Warcraft III is pretty good if you can learn to ignore all the people in multiplayer that get witchy when they loose...

It's a RTS game made by the best RTS game makers ever. For those unfamiliar with the genre, RTS is shorthand for "Speed-Clicking Contest." Some budding game designers noticed that even the most basic, straightforward action games included dreadfully high amounts of strategy, and so set out to develop a game that would eliminate this tiresome and obsolete concept of strategy once and for all, and thus, a genre was born. No, I don't know why they're called RTS games when no phrase that can possibly be formed with these three letters can accurately describe the gameplay of this genre; maybe it's French or something. |
By far gore, its a FPS FPS(First person shooter, fast pace shooter) and it blows all others out of the water on online game play, you can download the online demo(still great) at www.4drulers.com normaly you can get it at EB for under 25 bucks, it does have some offline play value, but its strong point is online. A must buy game. Check it out, tell me what you think. I got a killer server in it, most who play it, love it. Its free to play online, so your not paying a cent, and its pritty easy to mod, for anyone who knows anything about programming, the fact that your on byond tells me you have the skills to do a lot in the game. Its so much fun.

Besides gore, check out the whole series of Command and Conquer games. "Red Alert 2" is the best so far, make sure to get the expantion pack "Yuri's Revenge".

Real-Time Strategy is one of my favourite genres. Just look at the Age of Empires series, or Age of Mythology. They are GREAT games. Warcraft III isn't bad either, though to my thinking it's not as good as AoM.
RTS games are strategic. Maybe you just don't know how to appreciate them? |

I'm sorry you don't understand how to play RTS games. Go annoy people who mention RPG games, and point out that somewhere around 0 of them actually involve role-playing.

FPS games are strategic (technically, they're actually more tactical, as are RTS games to a lesser degree) too. It is, in general, difficult to make a game and have it not be strategic, especially a game of any complexity whatsoever. Hence why the typical RTS game fails to impress me much; sure there's some real strategy involved, but the overall strategy-to-twitch ratio isn't that much higher than a lot of out-and-out action games out there. That said, I do agree that AoE is about as good as it gets, from what I've seen. Haven't checked out AoM, but I will admit to being intrigued. |

It is sucking role-playing,but most are.The problem is that they set the role for you to play and you have no other oprtion. So you are playing his/her/is's role in the game.Lame?Yes, but I mean still most have good stories.

I rather suspect you're thinking of Civilization, or some similar game. The Age series is strictly real-time; nothing turn-based about it at all. |
