Dark horse Spuzzum. He is so good, he doesnt feel the need to prove it. ;)

By volume? Deadron and co.

Not so much volume in the last few months, but I'm hoping to improve on that.

Right now I'm working on a new library that I hope to release soon, which might be interesting for RPG makers...

Yay! BYOND could use a few more RPGs =P

Depends on what you mean by "best."

Best technical skills - Lummox
Best dreamer - LesbianAssassin
Best novelties - Leftly
Most dedicated/organized - Deadron
Most underrated - Air Mapster

I believe I come in second or third in most of those categories, so I'll nominate myself as most well-rounded :-)

The world will never be rid of RPGs, so as long as they're around, might as well have good ones instead of bad ones.

No he doesnt't. He deosnt belong in the top 30 either, and I wouldnt place myself that high either. You guys think raekwon is good becuase he has zeta, and zeta isnt anything special if you would really look into it. Even his other games arent anything special. He has good ideas I'll give him that, but his skills in programming are somewhat lacking.

Yay, I'm novel! I suppose I'll settle for that; the only other thing I might be in the running for is "best at bludgeoning the engine into submission."

I don't really know that Air Mapster is that underrated. I've never heard any conversations about "'Hey, what about that Air Mapster? Is he any good at coding?' 'Nah, he sucks!'" or anything resembling that. I think he's just too obscure--but then there are a few others that fall into that category, such as, uh, whats-his-face.

I may be biased, but given this conversation I'd say Guy is underrated. He's done some excellent libraries, like the sign scrolling library and the gesture recognition library. The latter is particularly clever.

I hadn't thought of those and as such didn't really think that he was actually skilled enough (no offense intended, of course--there are plenty of really great programmers that hang out around here that really don't get much mention as such) to qualify for being most underrated--so apparently you're right!
Lets see...

Deadron, Spuzzum, Lummox, Leftley, and Shadowdarke I would have to rate for the top 5(In no particular order).

I think I would probably make at least the top 15. I think I get underrated alot though because I used to be a real bad speller (I'm still not that good) and I've only released 3 games (1 I gave to Hanns) and 4 demos/librarys/tutorials (2 of them being quite short)... My k_security system is an example of some of my more advanced work that you can really see though :P

As for graphics, top people would have to be ummmmm... probably Leftley, Flick, and... Can't think of many more than that considering I'm not one who cares that much about graphics in a game.

As for me, i'd place myself in the top 30, but nothing higher.

RaeKwon

Well, I'd have to say RaeKwon is the best programmer(or him and Deadron) Spuzzum can't compare. Lummox JR, Tom, and Dan i aint sure. Atleast nobody can rank me cause I've been savin up games that i'm gonna release all at once(Or at close intervals)

This is kinda turning into a debate now.

Also, I need to point out to DarkHiei that RaeKwon is no better than Spuzzum, Lummox JR, Dan or Tom... Let alone Deadron.

So you need to get up-to-date with this now and start realising that you're over-rating RaeKwon. I admit he is a great coder, I would even say he is far more advanced with DM than I am. But hey, I don't mind :P

Anyway, if you knew what you was on about then you should know that RaeKwon is no better than the above stated. I don't doubt his talent, although I stand firm as to him not being as talented as the above.

I know one thing that would be good to do and fun aswell :D

To actually be able to find out the 'best' here. Why not do tests in those aspects stated? That way you can actually and truthfully say who is the best or not.

Otherwise this will just keep on attracting more and more people saying this, that and the other person is the best and no one can do better.

Although if you did do the tests and what, you would not see me participating... Reason; I know for a fact I wont make it into the qualifying region, so for me it is pointless to do :D

Foomer would be my pick for graphics, although there might be someone better.

Woohoo! Thanks for the vote of confidence -- but let's just say I won't be underrated for long, once BYONDscape announces its choice for 2002's Man of the Year. Heh.
In response to Gughunter
Oh I do so wonder who that could be?
In response to Jotdaniel
LOL! me too! hmmmmm we all know that the owner of BYONDscape won't be biased. (I know Gughunter is the owner :P) Hmmmm is there a demo for the gesture library before I decide whether to renew my subscription... (grant it I may renew just to see how great everyone says this library is which sounds really innovative to me)
In response to Jotdaniel
Wow I took a look at Foomer's hub, and he is very good. High quality. Expensive, but probably very worth it.

Thats all icky wicky, I have stated many times how I don't intend to advance Zeta, or work on any big projects till the community gets bigger. I have been releasing demo(s)s lowley, and me have an idea? hahaha.. Thats humerous. I'm alot better programmer than I just judged for, you'll just have to wait ;)
