Immature answer, to an immature post which was in reply to another immature post. Calm down siientx.

Your right, I was being immature there.. perhaps I should clarify why I said that.
I believe that there are certain limitations that should be brought to all actions that any one takes. And deleting something for the actions another man takes when there are thousands of alternative solutions far exceeds the limitations any intelligent person would make for themselves. |
Agreed. (no insult was intended, but ya it was a lil immature, not to say im not a lil immature at times(we all are(wonder how many parentheses I can get(maybe one more(last one i swear(ok im done))))))

Dareb, Siient. If you cannot keep insults off the boards, I suggest you do not post on them lest you have your privilidges removed.
Thank you. Alathon |
It doesn't matter if it was resolved or not. He said to keep it clean, he didn't ask if it was resolved or not.
You guys need to learn to respect mods for having to deal with immature/stupid/insulting/etc. posts every day, instead of getting pissed off at them for deleting your immature/stupid/insulting/etc. post. |
Try examining my post a bit more closely and you might find that the information just jumps out at you... ;-)

While I believe Siientx is probably going too far (not knowing the exact circumstances here) in completely shutting down his roleplaying chat or whatnot, I do strongly sympathize with him. There are, in fact, very few comprehensive solutions for problem players, as most any sort of ban you can come up with is going to have holes in it large enough to drive a truck through; in theory, the mere act of banning would suffice to inform any reasonably rational person that they are no longer welcome on a server, and it would be realized that to repeatedly defy such sentiment for no better reason than "I want to" is not merely rude but genuine, out-and-out you-need-a-shrink antisocial, but in practice maybe 90-95% of BYOND players (and probably at least two-thirds of gamers in general) would just laugh off the ban and log right back in, often just to continue the exact same behavior that led to their being banned in the first place. My computer being a lifeless husk right now, I'm taking a bit of a break from developing any games... but you know, closed testing is starting to look reaaaaaally good to me.

Personally, I saw nothing revolutionary about it. You could get the same effect with a say verb, an out-of-character verb, and an emote verb. That's pretty much all it was. At least BTG has character sheets, and TextMUD...well, is simple.

this was already resolved, please read the forums thoroughly It should not have had to take place in the first place... you know better. Had *you* read the forums thoroughly, you would know that this behaviour is not acceptable. And just because others do it is not grounds for jumping in and adding to the problem - you just make more work for the moderators. |
