You must really have been bored to actually be in school and write DM code on paper. I am assuming you are in middle or elementary school? No offense, but I doubt anyone in high school or higher would find the time or have the urge to do that. And if you are/did, you must really be dedicated to BYOND.

I did. Marking period 2, block 1, Computer Science 2. Well, it wasn't on paper, but notepad is close enough.

Then you must really live a sheltered life. Back when I was in school - I had a life, soccer, chess club, several girlfriends, etc., and stil managed to find time to write up little programs on paper for Apple II and Commodore64 to try later at home or in class, *all* through 6th-12th grade. Of course I'm talking 20 years ago too...

For some stupid reason, it's still not 'cool' to program in todays world - even on paper. Kids still think it is too geeky. Why? Having the ability to create programs, thereby controlling the machine, or making your own worlds is 'geeky'? Nay, nay - that is 'godly'!

Programmers and developers should be revered - who else can make the computing world go 'round? And to those who complain 'why doest this work like I want it to?', I say 'learn to program and you can make it so!'

Suprisingly, being the only coder in my computing class actually makes me cool. Im the only person with enough coding knowledge to make our project in a langauge, everyone has to use Excell or Access. Therefore i get quite a few people coming over to see what im upto :P

Holding a gathering in a location where only a small minority of members live seems like a bad idea. There are quite a few here in upstate New York, too, but even I think that's a bad idea. It makes sense to hold gatherings where the majority live.

And the majority of BYOND users live in... LAS VEGAS, baby!

You have no idea how many times ive done this. theres not compile tho. sumtines, i pretend to code hacking programs in BYOND code and freak out my friends. they think ima hacker :-P

truth is, we need to have all governments in the world to accept a proposal to demonstrate the destructive effects of a nuclear bomb. or any kind of weapon of mass destruction.

Not on plants or moons.. but in a computer simulation.

A downloadable demonstration would sober quite a few people up and stop them from using it so loosely as a solution for political issues.

The last use of a Nuclear weapon left a lump in the throats of ALL nations and all people from its effect. They are to be used for a counter-strike TO a Nuclear assault or a military scare tactic.

They do! I don't really understand it! It's such fun when something actually works... besides, causing a memory leak once and then is fun too. (j/k)

I second that.

I don't really write the programs up in school, but I do think about them... mainly to and from school... I think more on how I'm going to do whatever, what commands I'll need... that way I don't sit down, type a bit and think, Uh-Oh, how am I supposed to do blah blah blah.

On-topic: Occasionally, I will think about ways to do things in the language, and if I come up with a solution, I'll write it down. Most of the time it works.
