Well, Ive been playing BYOND for about a year and a Half, and Im Canadian, and just about every time somone mentions Canada or Canadians, people begin to Insult and make false statements about Canada and Canadians.
Im Quite tired of this, for most of the part almost all the Americans I play with seem to think everyone in Canada speaks french, for one thing this is hardly true, only about 25% of Canadians speak French outside of Quebec,
they then also seem to make other really stupid statements like for example they seem to think that all Canadians are Hicks that drive old 65 Ford Pickups, this is Hardly true.
Well that is just about all I have to say about the Ignorance and Racism amongst the Byond players.

Yea and I take alot of offense when someone blurts out the "N" word like it's funny. That happens in Dragon Warrior Chat and other games.

It's not an issue central to BYOND. Racism is a world wide problem. Complaining about BYOND-specific racism isn't going to do anything more than complaining about world wide racism will.

First off, it is not racism... it is prejudice.
I, myself, am half Canadian (lol.. I believe this is true because my mother is American and my father is Canadian).. but I don't really care about what people say about Canada. Hell, sometimes I make fun of it myself! In the words of Spongebob Squarepants - "We all have to laugh at ourselves sometimes.. I do it all the time!". As in today, I ran down the hall screaming "STUPID CRACKAHS!" and "BLACK POWER!".. even though I'm white. Of course, this confused many... -Chris | |

prejudice is the favor over one thing, race, person and so on. Racism is the hate of a certain race, has nothing to do with nationality, so i figure nationalism is the closest fit, but prejudice would work, but not the best fit.

Or any other geographic locality which the majority of the server population has a reasonably good knowledge of. | |
Well, mexico is a little bit more out of date then a lot of the world, so it stands to reason people would see it that way, but if you in mexico and on the internet, you dont fit into that catigory. And im aware some of Mexico is not that way.
