we should go to these [explitive deleted]'s houses and beat I never said we *should* do that, I was just wondering if that is what it takes to get these people to think first before posting, or grow up at least... Actually violence would not really solve anything - other than make me happy for a few minutes... |
But if you installed a torture chamber in your house, it could make you happy for a few minutes at any time!

[edit] I also agree with digitalmouse and LummoxJR, we should go to these [explitive deleted]'s houses and beat the living [explitive deleted] out of them! [/edit] Does this job pay? |
Sometimes, if they have money in their wallets or money stashed around their house you can get that. but otherwise no.

I say this all the time and yet no laughs
(alternate personality speaks into his ear) OH!! you only find it funny when someone is joking... |

HUB moderators are EvIl! Just have a filter! People would find ways around the filter. Plus, if there were HUB moderators they could not only filter the language, but they'd hopefully keep the scam-ish hub entries to a minimum. |

Id imagine it would be up to the individual who would go into an agreement with that person. What you're asking for is impossible because of the structure of the Internet. Deeply impossible. An absolute hose dream, because it's unworthy of pipes. And if the child claims to be 16-18 (legal age in canada for contracts is 16) then they would be commiting fraud, a crime they CAN be held accountable for, even if they are young offenders. I don't see how Internet crime figures into this, since this is a matter of contracts. Fraud is just plain fraud. If you commit fraud by entering into a contract under false pretenses, it's not considered an Internet crime; it's just regular crime. The contract still has to be signed and exist on paper. ((added)) Electronic signatures are very insecure, and making Dantom some sort of contract authority would be a recipe for disaster. This'd be impossible for them to maintain just logistically, to say nothing of dealing with inevitable disputes. This is really little different in imagination from suggesting Dantom can (or should) police all Zeta rips on the hub. The only reason you really want this is to facilitate your idea of getting unpaid programmers on board for a game development project via non-disclosure agreements. Many have said before, and I'll be happy to say again, that this isn't gonna happen. This too is a hose dream. The only programmers willing to get in on an agreement whose only clear beneficiary is you is if they're being paid good money in exchange. Heck, put me on a $40,000 salary (US, mind) and I'll sign an NDA and program for you. But unless you're prepared to do that for several people, don't expect them to come running to join in on a project whose future is uncertain that places demands on them without offering anything but promises in return--promises they can't even see will be met based on past follow-throughs. But heck, if you want to pursue this, you're welcome to. It's futile, but it doesn't hurt anyone else. There are existing contract lawyers and notary publics to go through in the meantime, and Dantom really don't need to get into their business--particularly not for the sake of this idea. Lummox JR |
There are a few porn games on byond now too. This is getting out of hand I dont remeber byond being set up for the common pervert. More of this stuff is being let go. I remeber last year a guy put a women striping as his game archive(SC). It only took a day for it to be removed and him punished. Now it seems like these people are gettin away with more and more.

no offense, but your post didn't exactly make you out to look any better than them. I didn't get to it before the [explicit deleted]'s were added, but I'm guessing it wasn't good.

Lummox, why must you always nay-say?
look.. if you cant make sense of something, think of ways to make something work, then give constructive criticism. |
Well if i had to pay to do anything with BYOND(besides play games and buy the manual) i would not. I think making byond pay at all is a horrible idea. Now maybie if you could not put anything onto the hub without some arthirization that would work. But no pay to play, upload, code, or anything else along these lines would work for me. I would probibly just quit byond if this was the case.
|
but this very conversation stems from the idea BYONDPro would be a separate byond in all with more features and a better community.
|
See, there in lies the problem, your giving more to people who are able to pay, not nesseraly are better coders or people. A "BYOND pro" would only make BYOND seem like one more item to buy, with people who have the money getting a huge advantage over those who cannot. Now i realize that dantom is wanting to make some money off BYOND, but there has to be a better way. Currently i love how BYOND is set up, free for most anything, with only charging for some basic things like the blue book or BYONDScape. I would buy a shirt if i had the money to spend, but currently my only incom is lunch($10[US]) and a little extra($5[US]). That doesnt leave much for anything. The extra 5 bucks almost always goes to something like bottled drinks(all 5 i can get). So as you can see, for some of us this would be unfair. By the time there is a Pro, i would probibly have a job, but there will be others like me. Its just not fair or nice.

Ive seen the post before it was edited and frankly, I agree with you. I mean do you have to have BS like that in a HUB entry? Im only 13, and I don't need to swear at to get em to play my games.

I know a few people in the community who have made BYOND their life; Wake up in the morning, log onto BYOND, set your PC to idle while they are at school, come back home, play on BYOND till they have to sleep, then do it all over again the next day. I only see BYOND as a past time that I do when I get bored. The forums are very entertaining and I check them regularly, and I occasonaly play a few games (mainly Leftley's games and Mafia). But if I had to pay for just a few minutes of entertainment because some people are immature, then BYOND really wouldn't be worth it.. $~Stimulus~$ |
