They're not going to carpet bomb cities. If you really think they are, you need to read up on your military tactics.

I'm not an expert in military tactics. Thank God.

Besides, if they carpet bombed a city, they would be in deep crap.

But you're forgetting - The Mighty United States of America can do whatever they feel like without anyone protesting too much. It's the Land of the Free To Do What We Bloody Well Want, after all.

(I'm speaking in terms of the US government here, not the US citizens. I'd like to make it clear I have nothing against you guys, just your government and their abysmal foreign policy.)

You're just restating your original statement in different ways, rather than arguing my previous answers. I rest my case.

and also this is a war, and in wars, people die.

EXACTLY. That's why I'm arguing against having a war. Not that there's much of a point now, as it's already started. Bah humbug.

And dont you even try saying, how would you feel if you were one of them, because im not one of them and i never will be one of them, so there.

But what if you were? Would you still feel the same way? You're dodging my questions, and you know it.

Please, do the honourable thing and back out of this before you make yourself look like even more of an idiot.

Ahahah, lol, funny, i really would stop complaining bout this war, but the god dam media keep going on about it and wont shut up for once.

You aught to edit that post.
If Suddam proves that he has chemical weapons in the war, im certain us Canadians will go over there and help, Suddam is a threat to global welfare because of his recklessness his suicide soldiers, and the way he treats his people.

Suddam is playing a very dangerous game here, he is lying to his civilians and they are believing him.

George Bush is no boyscout either, but he only covers up the truth, he doesnt outright lie.

Im guessing that this is a case of lesser of two evil.

If saddam does have chemical weapons or has people in other countries capable of releasing these into the air, Saddam's fall could only trigger that.

this is a caution, but if hes capable of doing such things, thats all the more reason to remove him before he outright attacks

I like the way you italicized the part about breaking agreements... because that really strikes to the heart of the matter here.

Let's start by saying, out and out, I do not like Saddam Hussein. I would love to see him out of power, and/or out of existence.

The officially articulated U.S. position isn't that this is about oil, or terror, or even about broken treaties. It says Saddam is a threat to us. The foundation of that threat is the alleged weapons of mass destruction, which hearkens back to the treaty... but the treaty itself doesn't matter to Bush any more than NAFTA. Treaties are agreements, and agreements are for weak, second-rate and third-world countries.

So, Saddam is a security threat, and so we move in. Our goal is not to disarm him. Our goal is not even to depose him. Our goal is to kill him. If we sent in one person with a gun, this would be an assassination attempt on a head of state, and would violate both U.S. and international law. Instead, we're sending in cruise missiles and dropping bombs... word is still out on whether or not that violates either kind of law.

The U.S. has just established a precedent that no doubt alarms the hell out of the rest of the world, or at least anyone who's paying attention: if we deem your leadership is a threat to our security, we have the right to make war to rectify this situation.

Is it possible that we'll stop there? Hey, France tried to stangle our ability to protect our borders from Saddam's menace... clearly, their leadership is also a threat. Unless they relinquish their "permanent veto" power which they had the Gaulic gall to threaten us with, we have no choice but to view them as an enemy. Don't worry, we won't go after the citizens, just their elected representatives... and the best part is, we won't even need leaflets to teach them how to surrender effectively. Next, Britain. Yes, Britain's leadership is with us, but her people are against us. Therefore, we will leave Parliament and the other government institutions alone and bomb the hell out of the people.

Yes, that's exaggeration... not even Bush would go after nations in good standing with the international community (I hope.) Still, it's the fear of that kind of scenario that's going to be going through other world leaders, and it's going to really boost the anti-America movement.

Yes, the U.S. is the most powerful nation on earth by several measures. No, we don't need the U.N.'s permission or the world's support to reduce Baghdad to a pile of rubble. Does that mean it's a good idea for us to do so? Being the strongest in the room doesn't automatically mean that you're a bully or a tyrant... deciding that being the strongest is all it takes to put you in charge does, though.
In response to Kusanagi
we used napalm. and thats not really a biological weapon...it doesnt provoke any biological disease like sadam and him using mustard gas on the northern people of iraq.
In response to FuZzY DiCe
It's not biological... it's chemical. I'm also sure that we used sulphur bombs.

If YOU deem it to be a threat to security, you have the right to wage war. What a ridiculous, arrogant statement. Any country that the U.S. BELIEVES is a threat should be brought to war. That's quite the convenience, I must say.

"Even though I haven't brought proper evidence to the table, and few others are convinced of this, I still think you're a threat to my security, and since I am unable to remove you personally, I am going to go through all the people below you to get to YOU. If they stand in the way, that's their fault for doing so. Regardless, I will get YOU."

That is just ridiculous. War based on conceptualized threat. That is outright ridiculous foreign policy. And that is why most of the people in the world today are opposed to this. And rightly so.

Hey. I think George Bush might be a threat to our security. Maybe we should take a look at this. I think George Bush might be screwing around with our economy. We should replace him with a president who will co-operate with us. We deem him to be a threat to our security, and so we have every right to rectify this situation.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I, for one, will not bow down. This war had a lot of protest to it and for good reason. Those protesters to the U.S. who now bow down are cowards. Stand up for what you believe.

I Agree, Bush is a power hungry...theres only one word to discribe And it starts with B with 7 letters...Like in the news him talking to iraq "Do not abuse the oil" Was the first thing he said, he isnt In it for the terrorists, JUST TO Get more "power" As i have said a while ago, he is Hittler II!

No hes trying to bring a world terrorist to justice, and at the same time, get some oil!

Other thing is if, Suddam has chemical weapons or weapons of mass destruction, the only places he can launch them to are in close proximity, so unless he plans to move his weapons close to the target hes in barney(barney rubble trouble!). And, as you can see, Bush isnt trying to kill civilians, hes just trying to get Suddam out of there, by destroying military targets, and hes not trying to kill civilians.
