I started a game some month ago.
And i figured out what is the key element of a good game.
First of all, people like nice and original grafics.
Best way to get em is making em your self.
Second, people like to see verry much equipment and items in your game that are also shown on your character when you are wearing something.
Tird, people want some good gameplay and wont like your game if they can only hunt.

I can make the tird thing, only thing needed is a creative mind but how a bout that grafics?
I cant make a game with crappy grafics and good gameplay cuz it wont be played that much.

My sad conclusion is that byond is going down.
There are not verry much artists here that are good enough to make some serious game grafics. If they are good enough the won't have to time to make alll the game grafics.
All people will use rpgmaker grafics or other NON original tile sets. And yes, i have to tell u guys again, a hell lot of people here at byond are some sort of DBZ freakt that only like DBZ games. I really think this SUX but we cant do anything about it. All people that aren't a DBZ freak are non original and start making normal RPG's.
Then there are also people that are a bit more creative and make a fan game. The only people i respect here are once that make a game all by them self. They code everything and all icons are made for the game.

Byond needs some serious changes!
It looks like all people here are 14 years or younger.
They think: "cool lets make a game"
They ripp some demos , put em together and solve all errors with using the forum. Then they are really proud to have a so called "game". There are also some serious people that really know how to code or learned how to do it but can't make a game because there are only 14 year old people that apply for icon maker.
Byond needs te get more serious because all the ripping and coppying make the whole byond comunity look like a playground for people that want to, but cant code.

Its really sad and there can be made a hell lot of real good games with byond if byond only was taken a bit more serious.

I really hope this will change some how in the future.
For now, i stopped coding because i cant make the icons myself and because people here are children that will only start [expletive deleted] around in your game. Maybe this is Y real game makers ask money to play a MMORPG?
Serious roleplay at Byond??? never heard of it.
I really hope all game makers get the respect they deserve and that Byond will get more serious.
