(Build 334)Well, there's this problem: "BYOND security certificate failed" and I used the search up there to look-up similar problems, so I found 2 solutions and an explanation of what it was... so I tried it Dan's way of using .configure hub-address none on the hosting machine, it didn't exactly help... and the compile code...well, that helps a bit, but not really in my case, I'm hoping to find an alternate way first before switching to that. Anyways, so here's an organized version of my problem: I host on a different machine a game, but whenever people try to join that game, they usually get BYOND security certificate problems. The machine also has a history of logging onto other games itself and getting 5 of those, but yet nobody else gets it. When I try to host a game on DS or on DD (Usually it's byond://68.1.226.238:28502 or something like that) and people log onto the game, some of them have to log back in because they've gotten a BYOND security certificate failure, and that's what's ticking me off. Anybody know a good alternate solution than to the 2 Dan and Tom suggested for the earlier ones?

Blazor07 wrote: Thanks, it helped a bit to narrow down the problem with a possible conclusion. I don't know if this is causing the BYOND security failures or not, but anyways: "This takes place through the web at http://www.byond.com and https://secure.dantom.com. DreamSeeker also requires access to port 6001 at dantom.com." Port 6001's blocked off, well, in a way so that I can't host a game on it. Anybody know how to change the port it uses is one that's not blocked, or do I have to contact the administrator to unblock that port? (And if this has no relevance to the BYOND security certificate failures, disregard this reply.) |
*sighs happily* Even if just one person uses the search tool to answer a question by themselves, it's worth it. =)
Don't actually have any help for you, though you might want to visit the Help Center (link's on the left) and look for the helpfile on Networking.
