I CAN'T JOIN ANYTHING!!! here's the error msg

Did you mess with the hub-address setting? Are you behind a firewall or a router?

i'm behind a firewall... but i always am....
i never had any trouble with it...

Try disabling it temporarily, to see if that works.

You need to open a few ports in your firewall and route all the byond access through them. You may also want to have a spare port, just in case you ever want to host anything.

Although Hazman didn't pay full attention, he does have a valid point. And he never said anything about 'closing' your firewall...

Since you can't tell us what has changed recently that might focus on the problem, you cannot expect people to suggest how to fix it. So far the only thing possible at this point is to check to see if the firewall config has changed, and to open ports (as suggested) to see if that corrects the problem anyway.

What part of "use your head, be creative, get someone to modify the firewall for you", do *you* not understand?

Sorry, that makes even less sense, since firewalls are often in your home or office - not with the ISP. Who are you using for internet access?

Then they may have changed something in their configuration, but it is up to you to find out if this is true by contacting them. If so, ask them to open up a few ports in the 3000-4000 range for your account, so that you can play BYOND games again.
