Since I don't know where to post it:
I was discussing LordJR's new Japanese tutor (heartily recommended to those who have missed it!) with him in Chatters today when the topic arrived on other possible educational software for BYOND.
Since I am a German-American, and live in Germany (*waves to digitalmouse*), I could create a German-language tutor - but I do not want to start on such a project if I didn't think anyone would appreciate it, since it would take a largish investment in time.
So, I am wondering, how many would be interested in such a language trainer, along the lines of LordJR's software (but with words instead of letters).

Of course you know my current Rally for more Educational teaching/tutor programs for BYOND, I'm all for it.
Would like to see others who are well verse in the following languages make these as well: spanish russian latin chinese korean french arabic italian greek hebrew .. just to name a few Cheers! LJR |
I certainly would support it, mostly because even after living here for 3 years, mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut! =)
I'll even donate free game/web hosting space to your project since you are a fellow Deutschlander and this is something I would definitely use a lot! I would really love to see a tutorial on dealing with German grammer and sentence structure (personnally that is my trouble). And the educational direction of BYOND is not a bad thing either. Hmm, maybe if you can make the code reuseable, this could be ported to other languages of Germanic origin - like English for example! =) Then the kids here in BYOND have something to learn from. k dood? =D |

I would like to see someone make a spanish tutor because teachers can't teach me something like a language because they do it in a boring way that you have to do everyday. I learn interactivly.
Also, this is why I have so much trouble at math, its so boring when taught by teachers I can't keep focused on the math :P [EDIT] The reason I want spanish is because spanish is spoken so much here, and if you are as good at it as me, your not going to be a very good cashier/technical support guy for the mexicans of america :P |

Ou omelette de fromage?!?! I believe you meant "Une omelette du fromage?". What you said was "Or omelette of cheese?" ;-D |
I can translate du hast for ya :p(actually my teacher gives us a german song every unit to study, and that was this units song).
EDIT: I can also mimic his voice almost perfectly. My voice is very deep and scratchy. |
Actually, Im about 1/4th german, which is why I'm taking the class, and its a great language in my opinion(well its a fun class anyway, and its relatively easy for me to learn).
