On of my friends is hosting a server and is selling hosting for $10 Australian per month which is dead cheap. The package includes, PHP, SQL, ASP, CGI, ASP.NET and also it is running on a windows.NET server 2003, and most of the usual. As for the space, im pritty sure he has a lot of it. If you want to contact him, either http://dominium.com.au or [email protected]
Im being hosted there and the service is quite good. Ive got email accounts and ftp accounts active. Ive got a php board and domain up too.
The price is negotiable.

Yes but this has unlimited bandwith, a subdomain, ftp access, and im telling you sure you can get digis but for all you people who are looking for a good one which will probably stay up for a long time, just have a look at this. It also has PHP4, 2XPOP3 Email accounts
Also the host has informed me, if you want more than one sub-domain, it can be arranged. |

Sounds good!
But just to clarify: I have all of those same features now (I just don't offer the POP email accounts since most people already have their own). And I offer BYOND game hosting too. You definition of 'good' is also subject to interpretation. Yours sounds good, mine sounds good. The *only* downside to my service is that my DSL connection resets every 24 hours, which unfortunately takes about 1-3 minutes to get the new updated IP address propagated to the dns servers - something which will improve in late May/June when I change 'net providers. Does your friend allow for hosting of BYOND games too? That would make your service more valuable to people in this community. $10 is a little expensive now-a-days. Hosting can be found cheaper elsewhere, I'm afraid. Even my new partner upstairs (Organet) offers www.yourdomain.com/ftp access/shell access/5 pop email/unlimited bandwidth/php/mysql for about $5-$7/month. (I just bought 10 domains for $50 from him). Good Luck to your friend! |

AU$10 is about US$6, you know. That's around £4 for us brits, which, as Digi says, is a little expensive compared to Digi's. BTW Digi, how much is just two game slots?

I never claimed to be a website hosting provider. The websites are nothing more than an 'added feature' for hosting BYOND games. (Although in reality it is BYOND that was added to an existing Apache webserver setup, but my primary service is game hosting, not website hosting). And as an added bonus for hosting a game and a website per client, it just makes sense from a maintenance point of view to run the game and the website from the same account. Easy to update for the client (only one ftp/shell directory), easy to backup, and easy for me to turn on and off. |

You don't have to have the website access turned on if you don't want to... But something to consider: If you started to get into using MySQL databases in your games (like a huge MMORPG for example), using a web-interface to manage the contents of that database makes life easier. |
