A little story about the car:
Me and my dad went to buy the car a little more than a year ago, my mom considered it my death trap, my dad considers it my "home away from home". The car has so much power it isn't funny to toy with, on the high way without trying I can have the tires break loose just by pulling out to pass. I haven't yet put it to the floor, because I know if I do I wouldn't live to tell about it.
The worst thing I have done in the car so far is roll it 5 times, which wasn't very cool. I was coming home from a party I was at, after being pestered all night to drive my cousin, his girlfriend, and my girlfriend home, after having a few drinks, I decided I would(not very smart). I was going down a straight stretch at 85 Mph, I went around a corner sideways and punched it, next thing I know it was rolling.. I ended up in a farmers yard. In total, I received $500 in fines. Rather crappy if you ask me.
But, that's what I drive.

The only performance bike in that class that I would consider any good was the Kawasaki Ninja during it's early years. The old Honda V65 Magna (late 80's-early 90's I think (with an air induction scoop on the side that looked like a blower from a MadMax movie) was reported to do rolling-start quarter miles in about 6.5-7.0 seconds (I saw a TV advert that claimed 6 seconds, but I doubted it at the time). Racing against you, Goku, would be little problem at all with the GL1500 - I routinely blew the doors off the two friend's Pontiac TransAm's (77 and 78) (both brothers whose father owned a racing mechanic shop) set up similar to yours, right off the line (seeing a huge GoldWing raise it's front wheel off the ground in the first two gears can be an impressive sight for something so heavy). The '78 was equipped with NOS and would then pass me at the last 100 meters of the quarter-mile - the problem with the 1990-95 full dress touring Hondas is that at about 130mph the nose starts to act like a wing and cause the front end to float around... a bit hard to control at that speed, so I never felt safe trying to push it up to the 160 it could do (stock engine). I never got it above 135, so the Ponitac could catch me easily. Had I removed the body work, I doubt the result would have been the same. As is, my only advantage was the huge tunnel-vision creating acceleration (an airplane-flying friend speculated that the GoldWing was producing around 2-3 Gs of acceleration from a dead stop, causing all the blood in my head to move to the back, giving me the tunnel-vision). As a side note: a stock 1992 GL1500 engine/transmission was given a smooth bullet shaped body, and a high-performance oil change, I also think they advanced the timing on it a bit, for a slight power increase. It recorded 200+mph on the Bonneyville Salt Flats (where land-speed records are made)... BooYah! Off the line at a stop light? Heh, they were always looking at my rear-end.. =) Not bad for a fuel-injected 1500cc engine, eh? (ok, it's a six cylinder, but their diameters were less than tennisballs.) =p | |

Heh, my brother told me that too but he isn't buying one. He only buys cars that save him gas since he makes trips between College Station and Houston constantly. The new Neons are small and compact with about 400HP, this lowers wind resistance and such a small body makes 400HP more than enough is what I'm thinking, and even fresh off the factory cars will most likely produce steeds for those speed demons out there.

Are you really gonna argue with me over this? I had my car custom made, I hand picked almost every part in the car, so I can guarentee you that not only is there a 5 cylinder engine, but I have one. The DVD player thing is just a dream so you may be right about that.
