Here is mine:
My Desktop
I think it has too much stuff on it, but that might just be me.
What about yours?

I think it has too much stuff on it, but that might just be me. hah You have nothing, most of the time my desktop is completly full since that's just where I put junk. I only clean stuff off if I stop seeing things I want to click on :P. |

Yeah I used to be that way, with keeping it to about 6 at most things on my desktop... But then my laziness set in.

Laziness has already set in for me. That's why Add/Remove Pro and Mozilla are still on there. I simply have no use for the desktop :P Its just that sometimes, when things are installed, shortcuts get put on there and I never get around to removing them.
|
Currently, my Desktop has 16 things on it...
I hardly ever use most of the shortcuts, so I could get away with removing a few of them... I generally always download things to my desktop, though...so every once in a while, it gets cluttered... And just for that reason, I have a folder titled "Clutter Control" in which I stick everything...lol It's the computer equivalent of the "junk drawer" in the kitchen...lol I hardly ever go into it, unless I'm looking for something that I suspect I buried in it...but it serves its purpose... |

I have a folder on my desktop for just that purpose. Its actually the GoZilla downloads folder, but I got rid of gozilla a while back, and it was basically the same thing as a junk folder even when I did use gozilla.
|
I try to keep it uncluttered, with preferably only one column of icons at any given time. The Desktop is my default download folder so it does get messy, but I always clean it up when I'm done with the downloaded files. Nothing's more annoying than not being able to clearly see my nice wallpaper, which switches every 5 minutes! ;-)
Just to be contrary to most everyone else here, this is mine (67kb). Maybe I should rename the "stuff" folder to "junk drawer" as SSGX suggests... |

Mac desktop! You Apple user, you! =)
My desktop currently has a grand total of eighty-one icons, which fills about half the screen. It means I can't see the background, but that's okay - I don't have a background picture! =) Apparently just having a solid colour instead of an image conserves RAM, potentially making everything run a tiny bit faster. The only problem with having icons like that is that I can never find anything; at least there's a "Sort by Name" option! |
I have about 50 things on my desktop ^_^....wait thats a bad thing, eh so yes my desktop is a junkyard for old pictures ect...But I'm simply too lazy to clean it all up. And my backround is a switchup of a static lullaby (Band) and Homestarrunner (Hard to explain).

Well, my desktop used to have a bunch of stuff, then after reading these posts I thought of any idea! Put everything into folders! I put all my shorcuts in the 'Junk Drawer', and everything BYOND in the BYOND folder, which also goes in the 'Junk Drawer'!
|
Mine is not to bad, i have had it worse: http://www.scooberthosting.com/image1.jpg and if you want to see what my desktop out of the computer looks like, http://www.scooberthosting.com/desk.jpg

Yes I already have a BYOND folder, with more BYOND folders inside the original BYOND folder, then inside those....eh...nevermind. Still...I have so much stuff it gets confusing if I put everything into folders.
