That's like, what, 3% of the book? I think J.K. Rowling has given up all pretense of actually writing these books for any purpose other than attempting to see just how massively huge she can make them while still getting them billed as children's books.
In response to Leftley
That's about 1/8th of the book.
In response to Jon88
theres 870 pages. _X% of 870 is 100. Use a proportion:

100 X
870 100

870X = 10000
/870 /870
X = 11.4942528735632183908045977011494% of the Book
(Gotta love 7th grade math)

The first 11.4942528735632183908045977011494% of the book harry potter is not at hogwarts. I havn't read further yet.

Airjoe

p.s. there should be an = sign in the proportion. its messed up enough already -_-

You forgot the big long bar over 4942528735632183908045977011 to show that it's repeating :P
In response to Jon88
Actually, its not repeating...

Also, just reading the newspaper, I found that he dosn't go to hogwarts to page 200. One second...:
22.9885057471264367816091954022989%

Also non-repeating. Just really long =P

Airjoe
In response to Airjoe
Looks to me like they're BOTH repeating(Although in the second case, rounded up at the end)
Here's the number:
0.114942528735632183908045977011494
I bolded the repeating part. You can see where it starts to repeat. The next number is a two. Either that or it just LOOKS like it repeats.
In response to Airjoe
Snape goes back to his normal cheerful self as soon as Harry goes back to school, don't worry. =P

If it's just division and it looks like it repeats, then it pretty much has to be repeating. =)

I've read all the ones that are out, excluding An Un-authorized Bigoraphy. They are actually pretty good, and them and the Redwall series are good reading to fill the time between Potter books... and, no one say any more about the books! I don't want the plot exposed to me! That's why I'm abondoning this link of posts!

They are boring, through and through.
Well, I don't have to think about how the new book will be, I finished it yesterday :P it took so long because people kept bothering =/

Overall, it was an exceptional book, different from the previous ones, as Harry is growing up, but nonethless a great book.
I haven't read any yet, but I plan to. I've heard a lot of positive reviews from adults (and in fact I still enjoy all the books I enjoyed as a kid). I also think it's great that, for the first time in a long time, a BOOK can get the same kind of attention that a movie or video game can get. It's a downright shame that so many people nowadays reach puberty or even adulthood without experiencing the joy of sitting down with a good book.

...book? What is this book thing you speak of?

It's the blue thing clutched in the arms of the stinky thing in the bag in your basement. :)
In response to Gughunter
Ohhh!!!

I still don't get it.
In response to Gughunter
Oh, so that's what you call those things, I have a few of those myself, I use them for paper weights...That bag doesn't have a stench anymore, the contents got away not long ago, but I got it back...heh...muwhaha...okay I'm done.
