i am starting to learn all the coding for byond but i just dont now where to start in a dbz game can somone help me?
Welcome to Byond!

But, if theres one thing you don't want to do, its make a DBZ game. We already have enough. I suggest you look at the tutorials and demos for a start. Try making your own little mini-gam type thing. Once you get the hang of BYOND, make something real that BYONDers can really have fun with and enjoy!

Hey, lay off the guy. He's alright in making what he wants, I see the only REAL problem is that the newbies might get to him first, and he'll go over to the dark side (ripping). So, as long as his game is original, who cares? (Hint: BYOND - Build Your Own Net Dream.)

I went there and got all the tutorials and stuff but i dont have a clue how i would do the transformations and char. creation.

Im not bashing the guy here. Im just saying no one (with high respects anyway) really likes nor plays DBZ. People want to play original games. Thats why BYOND is a game creator, instead of just being a game, like dantom first planned (in the begining of the blue book)

You're wrong there. I know PLENTY of people who are "respected" who play DBZ Games on BYOND. But, because of people who absolutely HATE DBZ for no apparent reason other than because, "it's not original" they just don't wish to openly express it out in the open, so I shall not list their names in regards of respect.
First of all, I want you to know that BYOND takes months to years to master. You wont automatically learn how to code by simply looking at a tutorial. Its like building a sand-castle, first of all you have to have your base, which is learning, then the middle, which is creation, and the top, which is completion. Just look over all the tutorials you can find, then, by thought, create your own minigame. If you screw up, just refer back to the tutorial. And by all means DO NOT MAKE A ZETA RIP. You will NOT learn a single piece of coding by simply ripping a game and changing its name. Look, theres one rule for you to learn about BYOND, and thats respect for others.
As much as I would like to suggest that you consider starting your search off the edge of a cliff or something, I'll just stick with a simple "don't start".

What kind of DBZ game? Zeta? Genesis? Regualer?

There's no classification, of a DBZ Game, except one...Original, or RIP. Don't choose no.2

You won't find thigns like that in a tutorial. There isn't a "code" for everything. You must learn the differenet aspects of coding such as vars, procs, the whole tab/ obj tree thing. It will take time. If you have any questions you can email me at [email protected] I'm still learning but I'm going along just fine.

asguard had a very good analogy. heres what i would do to start: make a simple login system that pretty much just includes assigning an icon to a character. then make some turfs such as grass and trees. and then make a warp (like entering a town.). expand your game from there. always take notes on things you learn and constantly refer to the dm reference which i believe you can access by pressing f1 in dream maker. byond has lots of built in procs and such. learn to use them all and you are better than a lot of would be coders. i personally think a dbz game isnt a bad idea but heres a tip: play dragon ball zeta. take notes in your head on what the game is like. then do everything in your power to make your game nothing like it.

And if you do one thing wrong, the whole thing collapses. =P

just try your best, and if you need help, just ask,
and dont worry if people keep arguing about whether its gonna be a rip or not, becuase you are the one making your own game, it should only matter what you think, not what other people say
