Image rotating programs.

Anyone know of a fairly good image rotating program? The one DS uses is great for 90 degrees, and certain other things, but on this one icon I'm using, the 45 degree messes it up.

You could try paint shop pro, it has a few diffent ways of doing it.

I actually tried using PS today, but for some reason it continues to crash. I want something simpler than PSP. Thanks!

PSP is about as simple as you're going to get. =) Load up the image, go Image->Rotate, type in the number of degrees you want to rotate, and save the image. What's so difficult about that?

I don't mean simple like easy to do, I mean a smaller, not as complex program. PSP can do many things.

Just ignore the unused features. That's what I do. =)

If you're set on it, though, try IrfanView; it should do most of what you want.

The latest Windows version of GIMP is pretty stable now, so it ought to do what you want without trouble.

I was going to suggest Gimp, but decided against it because he wants something simpler than PSP. =D

good point, but atleast it is less complex than Photoshop I think (especially PS 7 and 8!)

Hells no!
The interface for GiMP takes ages to figure how to do anything! Heh, PS all the way :)

For rotating, macromedias Flash might be a good bet.

Use Adobe Photoshop 6.0 (don't need to waste money on 7.0; they just moved some stuff around...) I use it for all my projects... oh and I also use Adobe Illustrator 9.0....

Only people who wish to bypass the law until they're caught are the fools. Yea, you may not get caught, I don't care if you crack or buy things, as it is your own decission.

Just answer this little question; If smart people don't spend money on anything, how do they get the following things;

Food, Clothes, Tools, Equipment, Houses, etc...? [Insert answer here]

You know perfectly what i meant, why would anyone waste time and send money to some arrogant greedy person when...you can just go to a warez site and download it for free....specially when you have cable ^^; ...besides when it comes to food, clothes, etc. i spend my money on the best...^^;

Is it arrogant and greedy to expect to get paid for doing work? Are you going to want a paycheck when you work? These people are living off the money they get producing this software.

Yep sometimes people do release things for free but that's the only time when you should take it for free.

No that's how poor dishonest thieving internet people live. Just because you're poor doesn't mean you have the right to take things for free.

Also not only are you taking money from the pockets of hard working people you are also making life miserable for other people too. Do you know why Microsoft has that annoying activation feature in Windows XP? It's to prevent thieves like you from getting it for free but it also hastles those that pay for the product. It's just a few applications that do this type of thing now but since most people have the internet I'm betting that this type of anti-piracy stuff will start poping up in other applications too. So in the future because of people like you everytime someone wants to upgrade thier hardware or get a new computer they're inevitably going to have to reactivate all their applications through some unwieldy process.

You could use Python and the Python Imaging Library -- they're free, and quite easy to install in Windows. The following program should rotate any file:


#Example of usage:
#  python rotator.py infile.jpg outfile.jpg

import sys, Image
Image.open(sys.argv[1]).rotate(45, Image.NEAREST).save(sys.argv[2])


There are three different rotation methods -- you can also experiment with Image.BICUBIC and Image.BILINEAR to see which produces the best result.

Well, PSP is simple for all you want it for, i dont see how it would be harder than Photo Shop for something like rotating.
