I am having problems surfing the web, Whenever a pop-up ad or window occurs on a site my explorer crashs. I have an up to date version of Explorer and am using windows XP. Anyone know of what might be causing this?
Aha, I know the problem: you're not using this! =P

Heh. Seriously though... I have no idea why it's happening, but you might want to get a popup blocker. There are some around for IE, or you can get Mozilla Firebird (link above) and use its built-in popup blocker (as well as all it's other nifty features).

I am aware of Mozilla, and personally do not like it =-\, Problem is I have a pop-up blocker.. but some of the pop-ups like Polls and such is somthing I like to use..

Although I will try to adjust to Mozilla, Thanks Cripsy :P

EDIT: OUCH IE doesn't want me downloading Mozilla, explorer crashed because it had a pop-up :P *turns pop-up blocker on*

Firebird is nice. If you don't like it, well, that's your choice; but IE is an inferior browser in my opinion. =) Keep in mind you can customise it a fair bit with themes and extensions and manual editing of the configuration files; check out the Tips and Tricks section on the website, it's very useful. It's even got information on how to implement blocking of pretty much any ad, which I like. =)

LOL!

I recommend figuring out what the actual problem was, even if you do end up using Mozilla perminantly.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. =) A thorough Google search might turn something up.

Well, it's microsoft. Why would they want you to have anything to do with open source? Whenever I try accessing a linux ftp site, IE freezes for a few minutes(probably does that with any ftp site though). Windows also refuses to even re-format any disks that Linux has formatted so that I had to get more floppy disks so I could install Linux. :)

Strange thing, I've never had any problems with my installation of Windows hating Linux. Except when the Windows install overwrote the boot sector so I couldn't boot Linux, but I knew that was going to happen. =)
