More realistically (or at least, more realistically to those of us who don't believe in the "supernatural"), the cat may just be hearing mice or other things rustling around in the wall across the room from you...

It was a joke, I don't believe in the supernatural at all. I can see how someone without a familiarity with Terry Pratchett's work might think that I wasn't joking, though. Whoops. I'll edit that post. =)

For those who don't know, Terry Pratchett writes comedic fantasy, notably the Discworld series (which is where I got that from).

All of you he think your cats are wierd, I am about to beat you in the wierdness quotient. My cat likes to lick plastic bags. Yes, you did hear right, plastic bags. The ones that you get from the supermarket to put the food in. I don't know why she does this, and it probably doesn't taste good either. The annoying part is that it is loud, and I have some plastic bags in my room so when I am trying to use the computer she will sometimes start licking away repeatedly for half an hour.

I just looked at this thread and I HAD to share the quirck my kitten had...
He thought I was his mother. He'd come up to me and suck on my collar while pressing it with his paws, like he was getting milk from me. It was one of the strangest things I had ever seen but at the same time, amazingly cute. :)

My dog is a tiny Jack Russell Terrier. He always climbs up on my bed when I go to sleep. Of course, last night, he decides he can't make it. So, I'm about to drift off into a peaceful sleep at about 10:30.... *WOOF!* Bloody dog wakes me up. I try to pick him up, but, as fate would have it, he has a thing about being picked up by me, and hides under my bed for a couple of seconds.

This goes on for about half an hour. Then, finally, he comes out from under my bed, I slide my hands under him and hoist him up. Time of going to sleep... 11:30.
well cats have a complex.. err they like to think they role over you by just being like eh. my cats are cool thoue, but sometimes they just stare at people too much.

First things first. Digital Mouse, I think that your ferret is amazingly cute. I used to have one, but I am embaressed to say that my dad gave it away because we weren't taking care of it well enough. It was a great ferret, and had amazing temperment. The person we gave it to said that the ferret was very lovable and that you really have to do something right to get a ferret this nice.
Easty, I have a big dog, a 65 pound female German Shepard. I don't really have your problem because she is big enough to just climb on my bed, but usually she doesn't. She likes to sleep on my parents bed and for some reason likes my mom the most even though she is probably the least loving to the dog out of me, my sister, and my dad. It might have something to do with the person who bred her being a woman. My dog is incredibly smart, too smart I think. She learns how to open the doors with the big handles so she basicly has access to everywhere in the house unless the door is locked, which is hard to do with the bathroom. Actually it is impossible to do with the bathroom.
Today I was woken by my cat whining and scratching my chairs. Then I found that it had pee'ed all over my bed. The cats in my house now run in fear when I walk near them.

Nope, I did the litter tray before I went to bed, it was pure malice I say! Anyway getting this made up for it, as did my girlfriend buying me an Xbox game yesterday. Oh well.

well, had I known about this earlier, I would have pointed you or her to http://www.knoppix-std.org/ where you get a bootable CD (complete with KDE desktop) loaded with tons of useful security tools for free... I use it on one of my laptops for war-driving, and security poking (I'm now doing a few small projects to help secure local company wireless networks, and this CD helps find all the holes and cracking issues)

We have indoor cats. The new kitten seems to enjoy attacking fluffy stuff and eating peoples feet.
One of my moms cats got hit by a car today, she just told me on the phone :(

Stupid guy didn't even try and miss the poor thing.

Even though she still have 7 or 8 more cats, I feel really sad at the moment, that was one of the nicest cats she had, and it was also a mother of several of the cats(which are still pretty much kittens).

Another one of her cats was shot with a pellet gun, in my moms yard, a month or so ago, it was the other mother to the other half of the kittens my mom has, I was really, and still am, upset about that one because it was my cats daughter.

Anyway, keeping with the spirit of the thread I'll say something about the last cat I had.

I named him Toby(dunno why, I just thought it fit him when he was born, we owned his mother and father, it also makes him 1/4th bobcat). He was literally one of the biggest, strongest housecats i've ever seen. He would like to sit on the scale so it was easy to tell how much he weighed, he got up to 35 pounds, and he was NOT fat, he was midly retarded the vet told us, but if thats what a retarded cat acts like then its not a bad thing, he was very gentle and nice for his size. He liked to stand on your chest in the morning till you wake up, then jump off, knocking the wind out of you if your not ready.

He would sit up in one of our reclining chairs and watch tv for hours, even if we weren't in the room most of the time, he loved it. He ran away about 4 years ago after he had kittens(which I hear isnt that rare for males to do, they get jealous). Thats about all I can remember of him. I'm just pretty sad at the moment.

Of course after I made my post and said that my cat always sleeps on my parents bed, my dog decides to contradict me and sleep with me.
