I heard that many people seem to dislike Seika, or just all Role-Playing Games of that sort. Are you the kind of (No offense given) stupid people who want like 50 different kinds of statistics for attacking and all that complicated stuff, like on most MUDs? I really cant stand all those types of complicated MUDs, I want nice simple, hack-and-slash RPGs.
If your going to reply, make it like the forum says: Civil.
That means dont say "OMG ALL U DO IS PUSH 1 BUTTON!11"
Try "It's too simple for me, because all you really have to do is push a single button."

If I pick the second one, will I get a cookie?

Because success depends on nothing more than free time. Working at a job would be a better use of my time, and the money I got from it would be more than enough to pay for a game where actual skill plays a part.
Of course I've never played Seika. |
From my 40 minute excursion in Seika, this is what I seen:
It's Mystic Journey with new icons and sound effects that don't fit the game whatsoever. I don't mind Mystic Journey so much, but the administration is entirely stupid. MJ itself is fun, until you get to level 30 and realize that the entire point of the game is progressing further to kill the same style of mob, with a higher stat ratio to match your own, with a new icon. And you repeat this indefinitely. I found no exploration excitement, nor any real skill involved. Since Seika SEEMS like the exact same thing, that's why I no longer play. If you can't make the game seem unique, in some way, in the first 40 minutes, God save you. |

I agree. I've yet to see an RPG on BYOND which actually has interesting battles. Tactics, people, we need tactics! =)

From what I see MJ is ripping off Seika's code because a long time ago MJ use to be fun for me, but now MJ is becomming more like Seika. I think some of the ripped codes are from seika because what i heard from Aaiko yesterday that some of the Seika Coding Leaked out.
As for Gunbuddy13. I kew him from the long ago versions of MJ where i helped out now and then. and The game is getting crappier now. All i can say now is that i now perfer Seika ober MJ, because at least Seika can be a bit more origional. |

Although there are similarities between MJ and Seika, Aaiko worked very hard to create what many consider to be a good game. This game is good, not only because it has RPG like qualities (which is why it seems similar to other BYOND hosted RPGS), but because of the origional ideas that were implemented in it. It has many interesting things in it. Playing it to find out what its really like before making destructive comments towards it may prove helpful, rather than saying its not a good game without actually playing.

Hello people.. well here is what I have to say about Seika... First and foremost I think I should get this out in the open.. I play both Seika and Mystic Journey {Only when Seika isn't working!LOL!}, but besides that point, I love Seika.. It's fun, it loks better then Mystic Journey in my opinion, I like the skills, and how you can buy houses, NPC's, and what-not... Now I can't fully complain about Mystic Journey, because I have not played it as much as I have Seika... However from what I have played of Mystic Journey, I like Seika much better. Well that's what I have to say... I'll stick to my word for as long as I play Seika..

i think thiers nothing wrong with seika aaiko give gunbuddy seika source so then gunbuddy ran off with the code and now
mj's update's are now really good cause of this and now seikais going down |
Seika is a game withought boundaries, there is no limit to where it could go, where it has gone, and where it will go.
How can you compare this to MJ, withought saying that its just the same as "every other fantasy RPG" because the fantasy oriented theme, and experience based level advancement is where the comparison ends. In Mystic Journey you start building walls for yourself right off the bat, character classes? solar/lunar nonsense? puh-lease. Seika lets you choose a race, and off you go, you have 18 skills that define who you are in the game world, want to be a mage, then practice your spellcasting, be a Knight defending the honor of the people, practice swordsmanship and curative magic. there are no limits. and the best part is, you don't even have to go out and kill monsters to make it in this world, Unlike mystic journey, the skills you have actually mean something. You could be the greatest blacksmith in seika, withought ever having to kill a critter. Can you say the same about Mystic Journey? No you can't. |

I think seika and MJ are two total differant games and i have 5 different ways off the top of my head
1.seika is harder to gain lvls which amek it more competative 2.Seika owner (aaiko) cares about his game and takes to teh ppl in the game but gunn could care less what ppl think 3.you can have pets in seika and yet ride them and can have more then one pet 4.you can make you own weapons and armors 5.you can make a guild 6.you can train if you want to be a fighter mage but in MJ you can be eather a mage or a fighter not both |

Of course I've never played Seika. PLAY IT NOW NOW DAMNIT!!!!!!!!! Seika is the best damn game in the world. Mystic journey just sucks. It's pointless u wonder around killing things. Seika has trade skills and things like that, and mj its so restrictive on its things. aaiko sent gunbuddy his source because gunbuddy is good at reducing lag, and gunbuddy then went and stole half of his code instead of reducing its lag. seika rip mj? HA!. HA! i say |

Some of those reasons are valid, assumign they are true. But others have no impact on the gameplay. For example, the games are made by different people (I know you didn't use that as a reason, its just an example), which is true, but different authors doesn't make them totally different.
And to answer the inital question of "Whats wrong with Seika?", I don't like games that feature boring tasks, such as woodcutting. If I wanted to chop wood and make a chair out of it, I'd go chop a tree in my backyard down and make a chair instead of doing that in a game. If I want to go to another world and throw fireballs at monsters, I'll do that in the game. Also, the excercise, fresh air, and satisfaction I'd get from chopping a tree down (in real life) is better than the message saying "You succesfully chooped the tree down! Woodcuting skill + 1!!". I did play Seika for at least 5 minutes. I read the help file, and was still lost/bored. Not to pick on Seika only, I find this to be the case with many BYOND RPGs. |
Are you the kind of (no offense given) stupid person who thinks that "civil" means "writing 'no offense given' prior to insulting people", or just a hypocrite?
