Which number? There are a few of them. =P
If you have a firewall or router, you either need to disable it or configure it to allow inbound traffic on specific port numbers. (If you don't, ignore this paragraph.) Those port numbers can be any number from about 2000 to 32000. On a router it will most likely be called "port forwarding" or "Virtual Server". Check your firewall/router manual if you're having trouble. If you have no idea where to look, just poke around a bit. If you're really stuck, post the name of the firewall/router that you have (including version/model numbers) and we'll try to help. Once you've configured everything, start up Dream Seeker and load up your game. Click the Host button in the lower-right corner. Enter the port number you configured in the Port box. Click okay. Find out your IP address. Tell your friend to enter that in the command line (the pink textbox in Dream Seeker), plus a colon (:), plus the port number you're hosting on. It'll end up looking something like this: 123.238.23.41:3000 Hope that helps. |
ex. 192.168.1.100:2543
2543 would be an example of the port it is hosted on.
