Okie... Is there a way I can edited the text window so that it automatically scrolls down to the bottom if new text is entered?

It should do that automatically, unless I'm misunderstanding your question.

actually it doesnt...it won't auto scroll to the bottom if the user moved the slider up to read previous messages...
auto scrolling is really annoying when a user wants to do such:) | |
I know that, but it's easy enough for the player to move the scrollbar back down to the bottom; and from then on, it scrolls correctly with the text.

that was kind of my point...the user will decide if he wants to view new messages coming in... its annoying when the program decides for you... *cough* msn messenger */cough*

Um... the user DOES decide. It's their scrollbar, after all. =P And if it's not at the bottom, then it helpfully stays in the same position so you don't have to continually scroll upwards to counter new text.

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying. And yes, I know that it doesn't scroll down automatically unless you're already at the bottom. I even said that. =)
So now that we know we were entirely at cross-purposes, this subthread can have the death it deserves. =P | |
Hehe. I would be on Chatters, except I'm at a computer that doesn't have BYOND. I could connect via telnet, except I don't know the address and port number of the server. =( Oh well, I think I'll survive!
