Vakir, you can have MP3 support. When you save your WAV files, simply choose the encoding option MPEG Layer 3(also known as MP3). It's not an actual .MP3 file, but it's more or less the same compression.
If you want a feature added, ask for it in Byond Q&A. There is no need for your protesting.
There are a couple ways of doing this. The easyist is to put the mp3 into a flash thing and put as something that opens in the browser but isnt shown. Another thing you can do is what Jon88 said.

Lol, with MPEG-3 Layer sounds don't mix, which is a problem for me, otherwise I would use it.

Actually some big problems come of that. Among them, there's a lag period every time the wav is played because it takes time to start up.

They would if they were in flash, you could even have them with multiple popups so each flash could play its own sound.

An angry mob won't change the legal problems behind adding MP3 support.

Then they should add MPEG-3 Layer Support with Mixing.

M3P support?

Vakir, they support what the windows API supports. Hopefully in the future we'll be able to use stuff like Ogg Vorbis.

Are you willing to start paying for BYOND then? Because MP3 support has to be licensed from the owners of that technology. Most likely when they do get around to adding more robust support, they'll use something like OggVorbis which is just as good as mp3, if not better (in some cases).

Actually I would rather see quite a few other features added before music is worked on. There are lots of freeware mp3-to-wav converters out there that you can use for making music compatible with your game.
Who's stopping you from putting sound in your game?
Settle down and request it in Q & A.

Well, sounds don't mix correctly which is causing a problem for me :(.

And what does that mean? They only play one at a time?
All of this is pretty moot once you boil it down to file size... the average MP3 is between 2 MB and 5 MB large. Most BYOND games, with a complete suite of sound effects, music, and graphics, don't exceed 3 MB. Including even just *one* MP3 is liable to double or triple your game's download times... including four or five would make your game get ignored by just about anyone who plays other BYOND games regularly.

No, like. Let's say I wanted a sound with the Super Saiyan Transformation and someone doing a Kamehameha around me. The kamehameha sound would overwrite, meaning it would cancel out the Super Saiyan sound.

Reply to the post you're actually responding to. Ungh. =P

People, please stop requesting this... it's only been asked for, what, a million times already? I'm sure better sound support will be implemented as soon as Dantom can sort the licencing issues out. Patience.
