But I dont see a degauss button anywhere, and it needs it badly. Any ideas?

You know when you put a magnet to tv's and tube monitors, the screen makes funny colors? Well the degauss button gets rid of the funny colors. To put it bluntly my funny colors wont go away.

Does your monitor have an on screen display? What brand and model is it? There should be a degauss option somewhere. If you can't find it, read the manual. =)

Its refurbished, it didnt come with a manual. Its a model GDM-20E21, silicon graphics, 20 inch monitor. I can't seem to find degauss in the on screen menu, nothing is labled, but I'm searching google for anything that might help.

The degauss symbol is often a magnet crossed out, see if you can find it... other than that, I don't know. *shrug*

Wow, i completely forgot about degaus and my monitor was recently doing the magnet trick. I was searching and searching for something that could be bothering it, then gave up. Thanks for reminding me, hehe ^^;.

well there has to be a button on ur Moniter open that up and search in there. Im sure ull find the Deguass

If your monitor doesn't have a degauss option (and some don't), a little trick you can use is to put another monitor that does have a degauss button next to it and fire away.
It'll degauss both screens, but the second on won't get as much. By the way, this is a useful trick at LAN parties when you have monitors back to back and you know the other person is trying to aim or something. :-) |
