I haven't been able to use any byond program for a few weeks now, as some old software overwrote my msvcrt.dll file with some old, screwed up version. Would someone be so kind as so email me([email protected])or upload a version that works with byond for them. Thanks in advance, I'm actualyl quite frustrated at this point, none of the versions on those .dll library sites work with byond.

Sigh. Your not listening. I've tried that file, its sitting on my desktop, IT DOESNT WORK!

Please take note that that file DOES NOT WORK WITH BYOND. Do you not understand?

Heh, did you put it in your \Windows\System32\ directory..? That is after all where system DLLs go :)
The BYOND full installer includes this file, running it again should give you the correct version. (I remember the file well, Tom nagged me about it when I was writing the installer =P)

The exact error is:

Error Starting Program

The MSVCIRT.DLL is
linked to the missing export MSVCRT.DLL:??_U@YAPAXI@Z.

And reinstalling byond did not work.

As Nadrew mentions, this file *is* included in BYOND, so it is likely that the other dll links posted here do work as well, just not with your computer for some reason. This points to a larger problem with your system, not a BYOND one necessarily.

Sounds like it's time for a re-install of Windows eh? :)

Maybe a registry cleaner would straighten things out? Or try something like Norton that fixes windows problems.

Try deleting any existing copies of the DLL in likely places (basically anywhere in the WINDOWS folder) and reinstalling BYOND again. It may not be replacing the file if the file already exists.

If that doesn't work, it's probably not just that file that's screwed up.
