How much it costs still doesnt make it good, you could get a $2500+ computer from dell and it still wouldnt match up with a home made computer.

I dun know, I got a "Pavilion" from Hewlett Packard for about $500.00. It came installed with XP, 250 MB of RAM (Recently upgraded to 760), 1.8 GHZ AMD Processor, and 54 GB HD.

Cable connections usually do not have a very fast upload speed, and even if they do, most cable connection providers do not allow for hosting of any kind. If you haven't you should check your providers ToS, if it isn't clear after that you should call and ask before you begin hosting.

My cable connection goes at 16kb/s, and i can sometimes get downloads up to 1 meg/s. Seems really slow, but i dont upload anything, so it doenst matter. Anyway, my uploads dont count to my limit.

Woah, your area must suck then, because my friend who lives down the street has cable and he gets like 250-300 KB. O.O

Unless he stole a majority of the parts, or bought them from the black market, I don't see how he could have purchased all of that with $400.00 or less. :)

Ha, that's pretty funny. If it's your personal computer it will lag even more. Ha. Haha. Sorry, but this is cracking me up.
I suggest, if you're really gunna host, to get a cheap computer, and use it for JUST hosting. Remember to load it up with RAM!
