think about it, www.byond3d.com ..., same as BYOND, but in 3D.. could be great...
of course the original BYOND has to stay alive..
2D is cool too...

Many people are talking about making BYOND a program with 3D interface..

but why not make another BYOND?!
all they have to do is alter the orignal byond, make another website..
Pretty much work.. but not impossible..
and it would be great.. at least.. that's what i think about it!

tell me what u think about it in here!
People struggle with making just 2D graphics(people like me atleast), think about how hard 3D would be.

plus i bet game makers will struggle a lot getting 3D graphics to work.

i'd rather see some improvements on the current byond, improvements that help make new genres, instead of getting 3D graphics which people ownt be able to make/code well.

They should intergrate BYOND with directx rather than using bltbit, it makes rendering really slow.

BYOND is a 2D game creating system.
A lot more would have to be done than simply "alter the original BYOND and make another website"

Besides, the lag would be absolutely horrendous.

Actualy, 3D graphics arnt hard once you figure them out. Use the right program and it is no problem at all. I used to use a program called ryno, it is great, but not cheap. It is kinda a 3D made autoCAD(made by the same people as autoCAD). Took a while to learn without any tutorials, and only a manual that assums you understand the basics of 3D design, but once I got good with it, I was creating house, jets, cars, and bender in no time. I have some pics of my jet on my site, but not everything else. Not saying they where all realistic, but they all looked really cool.

OpenGL seems more likly, which both windows and linux uses. For the Linux zealots out there, it will allow them to have a GUI version.
No. Definitely no.

This has been discussed DOZENS of times before. It's a dead topic. BYOND in 3D would be a completely different system, take years to develop, and wouldn't be nearly as good as the 2D we have now. Case closed.
