While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.
Your foot will change direction and there's nothing you can do about it.
Cool, eh? :)
Found it on Ebaum's World.
[EDIT]
Ok, now do the Mind Probe... wow... X_x

Test 1: This test is weird. Test yourself, but remember - The most important thing is to follow the instructions very carefully and not to scroll down too fast. Now, count the following easy calculations in your head as quickly as you can. It might help you if you say the answers aloud. Follow the instructions one at a time and as fast as possible. How much is: 2 + 2? 8 + 8? 16 + 16? Fast! Think of a number between 12 and 5. Ready? Don't change your original number! Scroll down! The number you chose was 7. Strange, right?!? Test 2: How much is: 1 + 5? 3 + 3? 4 + 2? 5 + 1? Repeat the number 6 in your head as fast as possible for 15 seconds. FAST!!! THINK OF A VEGETABLE! Think, think... You were thinking about a CARROT, weren't you!?! Really weird, right!?!?! Test 3: Say the following number aloud! Do it fast! 3 33 333 3333 33333 333333 3333333 Fast! Choose a color and a tool! Thought of one of each? Don't change the original! You answered: red and hammer Didn't you?! Weird 0.o Most of those worked for me... psychological stuff is very strange. ~Kujila |

None of those worked for me, and the foot thing only worked once on me then I could do both without my foot direction changing.

Weird 0.o Most of those worked for me... psychological stuff is very strange. Actually, this sort of stuff is quite simple; it's all just smoke and mirrors. The responses have absolutely nothing to do with the preparation steps; all those number tricks are just there to distract the person taking the test, so that when they answer the question they will give the most generic, stereotypical response that pops into their head. Do numbers with repeating 3's have anything to do with hammers or the color red? Of course not--if you asked someone on the street to name the first color and the first tool that popped into their head, chances are you'd get red and hammer more often than any other responses, because those are simply the most common examples that comes to peoples' minds. Not only that, some of the people who'd give you different responses would be cheating; they'd immediately think "red", then conciously decide "No, I don't like red; I'll say green instead". The only one of those tests where the response is actually influenced by the test itself is the first one; if it simply asked people to name a number, then 7 would come up pretty often, but on top of that it's actually suggested by the range provided (7 being the difference between 5 and 12). The other ones aren't anything that you couldn't get from the surveys on Family Feud, and I would wager that they "work" less often than does the first. |

Every single one of those was dead-on for my initial thoughts...
I knew the trick being played (that the answers they "predict" are simply the most common answers given for those questions), and I even tried to "correct" myself to keep from falling into the trap, but my mind leaped to each one of those answers instantly... 7, carrot, red, and hammer... Just like that... I also fell for the "elephant" one (there's another "test" like those, where you have to pick an animal at the end, and it's supposed to be an elephant... I'm sure some of you have done that one, too) It's actually strangely comforting to know that my mind coincides so well with the "norm"... I'm kind of glad that at least in mundane aspects such as this, I think the same as the average joe (instead of coming up with some oddball answers, like "eggplant"...lol) |
